“WOW - an amazing hotel!”

I just got back from a three day stay in Old Quebec. L'Hotel du Vieux Quebec was an awesome place to stay. It's so handy to all of the sights around Old Quebec. The staff were all so helpful and very friendly. We stayed in a room with two queen size beds. The room was clean and very spacious. We loved the picnic basket breakfast as well. What a treat!

We had a great time....can't wait to come back in the fall and will definately be staying at du Vieux Quebec again.

My wife and I just stayed here for 5 nights while we attended a conference at Laval. The hotel was wonderful. Lovely rooms, great location, helpful and friendly staff. We paid only a bit more for our 'superior' room than the other conference attendees staying at lousy hotels near the university (e.g., the one w/ blood on the balcony). Here, we could walk throughout old quebec, and could easily take a bus to campus. Neither of us speak french, and we had no troubles here, nor throughout the city. A simple 'merci' goes a long way.

On our arrival, we were originally booked into the 'quebecois' room. Though an attractive room it turned out to be in the basement, w/ only a partial window looking up onto the street. There was no problem getting moved to a lovely corner room on the 2nd floor, with lovely windows and a great view. Others looking at the quebecois room might want to be sure they are ok w/ a basement before booking.

Bon journee!

This Hotel is truly amazing! Great location! You will not regret staying here. I stayed in the King bed room and there was plenty of room.

We recently spent 3 nights at this hotel, located in the center of Vieux Quebec, upper city and were very happy with our choice. The front desk staff were cheerful and helpful, the rooms were clean and of decent size. Self parking is available in an underground garage about 2 blocks away; one gets a plastic card enabling entry and in & out privileges, the cost of CAD17 per night appeared on the hotel bill. You can unload/load your car right in front of the hotel for 10 mins, it is marked properly. Other underground parking garages are nearby but more expensive. There is a great bistro right next door with a super friendly staff and a daily 'table d'hote' 3 course meal for CAD24.50++.
The included continental breakfast (orange juice, 2 croissants pp, butter, jam or maple spread and with real napkins, plates and utensils) is delivered early each morning to your door in a neat little basket. A coffee maker is in each room complete with coffee filters but no teabags. All appeared very clean and recently renovated including a flat screen TV in each room. Bathrooms spotless but I did not like the liquid soap and shampoo dispensers in the tub replacing bars of soap and shampoo bottles. Overall we were very happy, were able to walk everywhere we wanted and enjoying the center of Vieux Quebec. Free WiFi with access code in every room and 2 computers in a very comfortable sitting room / lounge with fireplace.

We got an excellent rate on this hotel from Bookings.com (linked to from TripAdvisor.com). Our room was a standard Queen but was perfect for a weekend getaway. The locaiton and staff are what make this hotel such a wonderful place. The room was small but had everything we needed. Bed was a bit firm and we were located on the street side (though on a cool April night the streets were pretty quiet) but the hotel itself is solid. We never heard any guests above us or next to us. The lounge area is an excellent place to unwind after a day of seeing the sights. Hotel is inside the fortified walls and therefore you can walk to all of the sights.

Other than a small. well defined room, we had a well defined closet. Not all rooms are small but I think they reserve the smallest for Expedia customers. We asked expedia for Hotels with Internet, free parking and pet friendly. The parking ran about $20 a day offfsite garage, fetch it yourself. The dog was $25 more a day for God knows what reason. The Internet was free.
Although we had a new room it was small with one queen. The tub and bath were great and it had a refrig. There was no View at the Vieux but i would guess some rooms had one.
The staff make the place !!! ... as well as a great concession type restaurant which is always busy and for good reason. The management was wonderful as were all the desk staff. We would stay here again. The location is awesome right in Old Quebec. No need for a car. Walk to everything including at least 30 restaurants. They deliver a continental breakfast to your door each morning with great croissants, juice, jams etc. Very nice. Room has a coffee machine (hotel special).

We were two couples visiting Quebec City for the weekend and we chose this hotel from the reviews online. We had a fabulous time and it definitely surpassed our expectations. As mentioned in other reviews, the location is excellent. The rooms we had were quiet, spotlessly clean, nicely furnished and well equipped with mini fridge and safe, coffee maker (kettles for tea are available), Large Flat screen TV, DVD players , wireless internet and the usual hairdryer, desk, phone. What really made our trip was the service. The front desk was a real pleasure to speak to - very friendly and helpful. They offer little extras that make you feel appreciated. For example, when we chose a movie to watch, we were given popcorn to go with it. Coming in from a walk I was chilled from the wind and was given hot chocolate to warm up. In the evening, we were relaxing in the lounge and met the owner who gave us good restaurant suggestions and served us a glass of port.
The restaurant attached the hotel seem to be very popular with the local Quebecois and we had a good meal there. All in all an excellent trip.
