We enjoyed our stay very much. Location, room, price, parking and personnel are great. What a bargain for the price! Room is spacious and featured exposed brick walls...very cool! Bathroom was modern and shower was the best. Front desk personnel very helpful and friendly as was restaurant server. Included breakfast offered variety of choices and omelette was especially good. Location is great and although across from a gas station was suprisingly quiet. Only downsides were carpeting was worn a bit. Our room smelled a little too much like deoderizer and bathroom although modern and sleek had no towel hooks or places for toiletries. We would definitely stay here again!

We stayed here in October 2013 and it was a perfect place for us. The location is excellent: across from the market at the port and just at the bottom of the hill. Breakfast was included in our rate (which was $144 through Booking.com) was much better than expected! Served in the restaurant on the main floor, we had a choice of five or six full breakfasts including coffee (choices included an omelette, 2 eggs, crepes, etc). The hotel could use a bit of updating (the hallways are getting a bit dingy), but the room was modern and clean. Overall, a great choice if you don't want to spend too much in Quebec City. Why spend all my money at the Chateau Frontenac when I could stay here and spend more on food and wine? :)

I stayed here for two nights (Oct. 4-5) before leaving on a cruise and was 100% happy with this hotel. My room was spacious and very clean. It could have used an additional light on one side of the room, but that was a minor inconvenience. The bed was king size and comfortable. The staff I met were all courteous, helpful, and spoke English. The hotel is located within a 5 minute walk to a food market and restaurant. A pharmacy is right down the street, as are a few antique shops and a wonderful clothing shop. A 10 minute walk will bring you to the funiculare to the upper part of the city. And when you're up there, be sure to go to C'Est Si Bon Confiserie, 1111 rue St-Jean. I enjoyed the best dark chocolate turtles I've ever eaten there. From the hotel to the cruise ship was perhaps a 15 minute walk. I would happily stay in the same hotel again, were I to return to Quebec City.

Room Tip: I was on the third floor. There was no problem with noise.

I've read that the rooms were dark, but I couldnt realize how dark' the walls are black and just a few lamps! Besides That, the room is really modern and so was the bathroom! The shower was excellent, better than in Fairmont that we stayed in Ottawa! Good choice in Quebec for the budget we had, but they should improve the illumination of the room!

Hello!!
We are glad to hear that you loved your stay at Hotel Le Saint-Paul.
Concerning the light in the rooms, we are working on it, we are going to change the color of the room to make it brighter, and we are also adding some lamps so you can have light in the desired place without having to turn on the lights of the whole room.

Thank you once again for your comment, it helps us improve.

We hope to see you again!

Best Regards.

We recently stayed at the Saint Paul in Old Quebec City and really enjoyed our visit. The hotel is very old looking on the outside, and we were afraid that we might have made a mistake booking there, but the rooms have all been beautifully renovated . The fixtures in the bathroom are very high-end with a Jacuzzi tub and a large glass walled shower that had multiple shower heads - from body jets, to rain shower head, to hand held. We couldn't make up our mind which ones to use! They were all great. One glass wall actually had a view of the living area (with an opaque modesty panel in the middle.) We were on the fourth floor corner room suite with beautiful natural light, windows that opened and a view of the Old Port and Farmers Market. The bed was large and comfortable, and the décor of the room and furnishings was very modern. The desk staff and housekeeping were very friendly and helpful. Parking was very convenient - right across the street - which is not so with many of the other hotels in Old Town. Breakfast was included in the rate in an adorable café downstairs. The location was so convenient to everything we never used the car. We are looking forward to staying there again!

My wife and I spent 3 nights in the Saint Paul. The exterior is in the original state but once we opened the door to our room, we experienced the wow factor! The room was large, clean, totally renovated in a modern minimalist style. Large bed, large flat screen TV, opening window (which my wife prefers), very well situated at the foot of old Quebec. We would have liked a little more space for toiletries, etc. in the bathroom but that's the price to pay for minimalism. A room safe would also be useful but you feel really safe in Old Quebec. The staff are very friendly and a cooked breakfast was included in the rate. The car park is just across the road and not expensive. A thoroughly enjoyable stay. We'll come again!

This hotel has the "Old City" charm we were looking for. It fits right into the old part of Quebec City. The rooms were clean and cozy, the service was excellent (both desk staff and cleaning staff), the adjacent restaurant was also a great place were you could sit down with your friends or family and enjoy a good meal or an excellent wine.

Room Tip: Rooms facing the front of the hotel are larger but the rooms in back are quieter.
