I like the look over the st-lawrence river and the south shore. I used the cyclable track by a sunny day and it was beautiful and relaxing.

There is a great view of the St. Lawrence river with the iconic Chateau Frontenac towering above you. It is a beautiful spot to go and soak in the view. In the afternoon, you're likely to see a good street performance.

It's free, it's lovely and it doesn't take long. You should make a point of stopping by.

A very nice area with the best view of the St. Lawrence river below. With the statue of Samuel-De Champlain at its center, you have the majestic Chateau Frontenac on one side and the nice promenade on the other. This area by the statue seemed to be the most popular place for people to congregate. It was very pleasant to either walk along the promenade or sit on one of the benches to relax and enjoy the view of the river below and beautiful landscape that lies across from the river. In our few days here, we found that there was almost continuous entertainment right in front of the statue both during the day and evening. From the promenade, you can take the funicular or walk to the lower town, although the walk back up proved to be very tiresome.

We were in Quebec in November and while the weather was quite nice for the most part, it was a bit too cool to walk for long along the promenade. In the summer, this would be a fantastic place to walk and explore!
