Just returned from our week in Old Quebec City. The city is historic, lively and fun with many great restaurants. We really enjoyed the Hotel Le Clos Saint-Louis which was exactly as pictured. This is a lovely period hotel that is meticulously maintained and decorated. Rooms are decorated with antiques collected by Ghislaine, the hotel owner. The hotel is centrally located yet very quiet and relaxing. Bathrooms are updated ( we had a Jacuzzi tub). Many little amenities are provided that added to the ambience such as tea set and wine glasses in guest rooms.Thank you Ghislaine for sharing your beautiful home. Looking forward to a return trip!

Le Clos Saint-Louis is a very comfortable hotel, very convenient to walk around the Old town and it's many shops, sights and restaurants.
The room was extremely quiet and well appointed and the breakfast hit the spot each day.
So, we highly recommend this hotel
A bonus was to discover the Bello Ristorante almost next door on Rue Saint-Louis.

The Pros: This hotel is really two houses joined, absolutely perfectly decorated. Every detail, every color, every piece of furniture has been thought out and the result is just sheer beauty. Coming back at night to this hotel was a pleasure. The location is great - just down the road from the Chateau Frontenac, which is a meeting place for many tours, etc. The service was acceptable. Breakfast in the morning is an additional cost, but well worth the paltry $11/person for delicious made to order food. Everything is updated, including great bathrooms.

The Cons: There are a few steep stairs going up into the hotel. And unless your room is on the main floor, you will have to contend with stairs. Breakfast in the morning is in the basement area, again with stairs. (Keep in mind that this is an old house, so the stairs are generally narrow and winding and steep.) I didn't pay attention to the fact that our rooms were on the 4th floor with no elevator. I still can't find where this caveat is written, but I'm assuming that I just missed it. This is A LOT of stairs. The air conditioner in our room was a bit noisy, but nothing we couldn't sleep through. Also, if you are allergic to feather pillows, there is no substitute.

If we had not been traveling with elderly parents, this hotel would have been outstanding (you don't need a fitness center with all those stairs!).

We would stay here again.

Le Clos St Louis is a wonderful hotel and located inside the walls of old Quebec just 3 minutes walk from Chateau Frontenac. The staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly both on the desk and also in the breakfast room and the cleaning staff. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay there in September and would definitley recommend it. Close to lots of great restaurants.
