Great place to stay within the walls, and one block from the city center. Wonderfully clean. No A/C but fans do the trick. Would be uncomfortable without the fans. Staff is very helpful with local tips especially where to eat.

My wife and I stayed at this hotel and found it reasonably priced for the excellent location.
The hospitality was just wonderful. The first thing you notice in your room is cleanliness. The next thing you notice is the details of how beautiful it was decorated. The room was on the first floor and we were very comfortable. The bed was so comfortable my wife and I slept like babies. This was with no air conditioning and no television, and I didn't miss it. In the morning we would have our juice coffee and danish. A hospitality of Maison Dufort. I give this place a thumbs up. Marielle Roy is an excellent hostess, always caring, and making sure you are comfortable.

We stayed in Room 6 which was lovely, bright, open and very large. The two double beds and the large sitting area offered us much comfort and space for our one week stay. It is a short Walking distance to everything.
I asked to borrow or use their toaster as unfortunately I could not imbibe on the fabulous breakfast pastries. To my amazement, a brand new toaster waited for me by the same evening.
Lovely hosts, lovely B&B, and lovely city to visit and learn about.

We stayed at Maison du Fort for two nights and wished we could stay longer. The hotel is small and very comfortable (we had two rooms on the forth floor, with a small private bathroom and a kitchenette). The location couldn't be better, the view is terrific, and Mme Marielle is absolutely delightful. She is gracious and lovely, and knoweldgeable about the city; do follow her advice, you will not be disappointed. One of the nicest things about Maison du Fort was being woken up in the morning by the smell of good coffee and freshly baked muffins.

My daughter and I had an absolutely perfect night at Maison du Fort. Only disappointment was that we had time constraints and could only stay one night - we would have loved to stay for much longer. The room was beautiful, breezy, immaculate (the cleanest bathroom she'd ever seen, my daughter said). The location is ideal for walking in Old Quebec. Parking is about a block away and easy to find. We hadn't even expected breakfast and it was delicious - homemade loaves and good coffee, juice, newspapers.
It was probably the nicest room we've ever stayed in, with views out the window of the old streets and houses, full of character. Completely delightful.

We arrived late in the evening (10:30pm) and Marielle was waiting for us with the door open. She had our room ready and let us get some sleep before checking into the hotel. We were concerned that we were in a room right inside the front door, but it was so quiet and comfortable. The rooms have a lot of character, but still up to date with the modernized bathrooms. There is no A/C, but this was not a problem, even in July. The windows in your room swing open wide. There is also free wireless in the hotel.

Breakfast is small, but adequate. An assortment of muffins and sweet breads with juice and coffee. You can take it on a tray back to your room. The two resident cats are friendly, but they wander around, so you don't necessarily see them often.

Marielle was very helpful with giving us maps and tourism advice on the sights to see around the city. The entire stay was wonderful. The location is wonderful, just a 2 minutes walk down the street to the water.

My partner and I had the most wonderful stay at Maison Du Fort. Absolutely magical. Upon arrival, we were greeted by the owner, who is a lovely, sweet, and energetic woman. She took the time to provide us with very useful tourist information. The whole hotel, which has 11 rooms, was immaculate, and rich with character. There is quite the cat theme going on in the art, but all in fantastic taste. Our room, room 10, was open and airy, the walls were made of grey stone and orange brick, and it had a four poster bed! The high quality sheets and bedding did not go unnoticed. There were four huge windows in our room, all of which had benches. One of the windows lead out to the fire escape, where we could have a drink and overlook the St. Lawrence. My partner accidentally woke up at 5 AM one morning, and watched a gorgeous sunrise out the same window. What a treat! They also had shutters which could be closed if you don't want to be woken up by the morning light. We brought a bottle of wine to drink in our room, which we left on one of the tables when we went out for the day. When we arrived back at our room that night, we found two wine glasses waiting for us beside our bottle. So thoughtful! In the morning there was complimentary coffee, tea, juice, and treats for us to bring up to our room. My partner has a nut allergy, so our hostess went out of her way to find him something he could eat. She produced a delicuios raspberry and white chocolate bread. So nice! Finally, the location is spectacular. But a few streets away from St. Louis, where all the restaurants are, and even closer the boardwalk and Chateau Frontenac (where you should definitely get dolled up and go for martinis!). The next time we go back to Quebec City for a romantic getaway, we will definitely be returning to room 10 in the Maison du Fort.
