During the "New France" Festival we enjoyed ort stay for 3 nights in this lovely B & B. The rooms were large, the hostess was incredibly helpful and the morning breakfast delicious and inventive. Yes the bathrooms were small but each room had their own for great convenience. The location could not be better.

Room Tip: Room number 1 if you have trouble climbing stairs.

This B&B has an unbelievable location, just 2 blocks from the Chateau Frontenac and in the midst of the old city. Everything was within easy walking distance. Our room had lovely brick walls and decor. It was exceptionally clean. Breakfast prepared and served by Victoria was delicious. We highly recommend it and will go back the next time we are in QC.
John and Denise

Room Tip: Our room was in the front of the b+b and on the street and was very quiet.

Visiting the old city on Quebec and staying in a B&B means staying in an old house. The location was very good, the food was okay, but the room was an adventure.

Our two couples occupied two of the three upstairs rooms. Way back when someone decided to turn this house into an inn, they had to construct bathrooms in each room. Start with a moderate size room, carve out a very tight shower, toilet and sink and you have a bath so small that this reviewer had to step out into the rest of the bedroom just to have enough space to maneuver a towel for drying off.

The challenge of moving luggage from the entrance to the upstairs bedrooms involves navigating steep, narrow stairs that curve sharply near the top.

Breakfast is served in a smallish basement level. There is no sitting area in any other common area.

On a brighter note, the innkeeper is very pleasant and the location is a strong point...and needs to be since the suggested parking area is blocks away and runs $18 Canadian per day.

B&B de la Fontaine was a perfect place for us to spend our week in Quebec City. The room was wonderful (room 2 on the first floor) and very quaint. Our hostess Victoria was so accommodating and welcoming and by the end of the week we felt like old friends. Her breakfasts were varied with many choices and delicious. She did an amazing job of making us feel so comfortable and giving us advice about restaurants and things to see. Her B&B is centrally located to everything. No where took more than 15-30 minutes to walk to, but her home is off the main streets and the bustle of the city so it was quiet but so close to any activity. I would not hesitate to recommend Victoria's B&B for your vacation.

Room Tip: We didn't see the other rooms, but room 2 is spacious with a sitting area that has a pull out co...

We found the B&B de la Fontaine to be just right for our visit to Quebec City. The location was excellent, our room, right on the first floor was large enough, very quiet, and we appreciated having the refrigerator since it was very warm while we were there. The A/C worked great also! When we arrived mid-afternoon we found an envelope waiting for us with a welcome and instructions about unloading and parking and where to find the room key. Victoria was very welcoming, and helpful and her breakfasts were delicious. The location could not have been better for walking the city - very close to everything! We thoroughly enjoyed our 4 night stay and hope to come back some day with our grandchildren. Hint - if you are visiting in the summer, don't miss the FREE Cirque du Soliel show!

Room Tip: We did not see the other rooms, but found our room on the first floor to be very convenient and plen...

B&B de la Fontaine is located at the top of the hill in the old city. It's a very short walk to main attractions but is a block or two away fro, the very busy and noisier streets. We stayed for five days and everything was great. Victoria is a wonderful host who went above and beyond to ensure that we had a pleasant stay. Breakfasts were delicious, quite healthy, and were a great way to start our day.

We're already planning our return trip to Quebec City. We will absolutely stay at de la Fontaine when we go.

Victoria was so kind and friendly. She patiently helped me with my French. Her breakfast was healthy and very substantial. Good coffee. Room was big and attractive. Bedsheets were new. Bed was very comfortable. Very very quiet, as is all of Vieux Quebec. At night it's like you're in a small town. No expressway, no buses, no nothing. Women walk around late at night with no fear. Very safe. Big boardwalk a block away overlooking the wide St. Lawrence River. I and my compine highly recommend this B & B de la Fontaine!
