Can validate the good reviews. Great location – walk straight out the front door and cross the plaza to the St. Jean gate into the old city. Staff is unbelievably and genuinely gracious and helpful. Marriott quality (always excellent). Had a small, very comfortable, and quiet room with modern, clean bathroom and a great view of the old city. I can see how the rooms facing the plaza could be noisy during a rock concert or something, but it was quiet while we were there. We had breakfast in the hotel, which was very convenient. ATM in bank a block away heading left. Just perfect!

We just recently visited Quebec City for the first time. We loved this city with its old world charm. It really felt like you were in France. The best place to stay is in or as near as possible to the Old Town and that is exactly what we did by staying at the Courtyard Quebec City. It is located right outside the Porte St. Jean gate. In fact that is your view from the front door of the hotel with its many restaurants, shops and ice cream places right at your door. It was great to just step out of your hotel and be where all the action was. The Rue St. Jean is closed out from traffic for part of the way so its great to just get out and walk. Quebec City is a very walkable place, but if you get tired you can always take these little (and I mean little) Ecobuses they have that take you around the old town. So you can start out walking all the way to the lower town then wait for one of the little Ecobuses to come by (they have a stop by the Ferry place down there) and take you back to within a block from this hotel.
Back to this Courtyard Hotel, the hotel itself is very nice inside with an old world charm to it. It was clean and the rooms were large and accommodating suitable for a Marriott hotel.
Hope when your travels take you to Quebec City you consider this hotel as we felt it had the best location and quality for the price. All the other places I checked into were more expensive and further away from the Old Town.

I have been impressed with this chainin the past but this particular horel blew me away. This place has it all........Great Location in the heart of the city.....Please have dinner prepared by Chef William Guay. His Filet will match a Mortons and his Scallops could be the best I have ever enjoyed.

If you have any issues contact Roselyn Fradette who can solve any of your business needs. I did a training program at the hotel for 30 people and could not be happier.

In summary if you have are the type who worries and feesl more comfortable with a team behind you this is my pick in Quebec City. What GREAT people!

First of all this is a GREAT location. You are just outside the walls to old Quebec, just across the square. Couldn’t ask for a better location, simply great. The service here was impeccable. Originally we were given a room, but it faced a brick building, with very little sunlight, and it just wasn’t where we wanted to spend three days in. We had no problem changing rooms, which faced the main street, with lots of sunshine, and much more moveable space. It was perfect. The front desk staff, the concierge, the valet, all were simply awesome in service and friendliness. The breakfast: we opted for the American buffet breakfast offered at the hotel’s restaurant. However, I would only rate it o.k. Not many options for those of us who don’t eat pork. No real alternatives, AND it was a little slow in replacing the buffet items, so we had to wait. The service in the restaurant was again impeccable and impressive.
We opted for the valet parking because we wanted to have the flexibility to take our car in and out during the day. There is self-parking just about across from the hotel, but no in/out privileges. So if you don’t think you’ll be driving around very much and walking everywhere for the time you’ll be there, then do self-parking, otherwise, the valet parking is more suited. We went to the mall and Montmorency falls on one of the days, so it worked out for us.
There was a situation where a major water main burst in the main street behind the hotel. Marriott called early in the morning and woke us up to advise us the time that the water was going to be shut off and when it was expected to come back on. They suggested we get showers before it was turned off, and they provided bottled water in the lobby. That is what I call excellent service, because not every hotel will go out their way to contact every guest and ensure that they know .
All in all, if this is the standard for Marriott hotels, then they’ve made me a believer. Besides the city itself, my stay at this hotel actually made my trip that much more wonderful.

Room Tip: Ask where your room is facing, and request that your room face a street.

Just returned from 4 day stay at Marriott. This hotel has the perfect location just outside the Old City and close to the Battlefields Park.
The rooms are very clean and the staff is exceptional.
Highly recommend.

We had a wonderful three nights here. It has a fantastic location,is sparkling clean and comfortable, and very friendly. The view from our room was not the best. Next time I would ask for a room overlooking the city walls.
Quebec City is my favorite city. The food, history, and the sights are fantastic. I would recommend the walking tour.

Stayed one night, 30th of June 2011. Hotel is in a great spot right outside the old city's gate. Room was large, clean, comforable - no view but that was no bother as spent my time in the city. By far what impressed me most was the service and friendliness of the staff. Check-in and check-out were extremely fast, the staff all made me feel welcome and they were most helpful with any questions I had. I highly recommend this hotel for a Quebec City stay and will absolutely use it again myself.
