“Nice Hotel (But!!)”
Reviewed 13 September 2011

This is a very nice hotel located very near the Old City. Staff very pleasant and helpful. Breakfast was good. So, What's our issue?? We are Marriott Platinum members and should get free breakfast/free parking or a room upgrade...received none of that...some by Courtyard's policy and some because we weren't offered it. This is an issue for us and we never stay in a Courtyard, because of it, unless that's our only "Marriott" choice.

We stayed at Courtyard, right outside of the wall to old town, for 2 nights on September 7-9. I read the reviews of others before I booked it. It was just as what others said that the location is great. We walked everywhere. The old town is one of the most beautiful places on earth especially the broad walk extended from Fairmont Le Château Frontenac. The view is amazing. There are a lot of street musicians playing music. I have to say it's one of the most romantic places I have ever visited. You do feel you are at one of the European cities. We were lucky to have beautiful weather during our stay. The weather, the music and the view certainly made the atmosphere even more romantic. Our hotel is very convenient with easy access to everywhere. The parking is $20 per day that I wish we don't have to pay. But I would stay there again and would recommend Quebec City to anyone.

The hotel is located in the heart of Quebec City.. you are only a few steps away from Old Quebec City.

I only had two complaints. The first is the valet was overwhelmed when we arrived and forced us to park in the middle of the street and almost cause a car accident.

Secondly the "spa" which is actually only a hot tub closed at 10pm, we went down at 9:45 for a quick dip and they had locked the doors early.

The staff were very friendly as other reviews have mentioned. The hotel is located in a noisy neighborhood and there were festivals going on at the time so if you are a light sleeper you might want to bring ear plugs or stay somewhere else. But it didn't bother me.

We, a family of 3, stayed for 3 nights and nother night a week later. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The rooms were good but somewhat small for three (king size + roll away or sofa bed). The sofa bed we had was more a "chair bed" - small and narrow. The hotel is nicely located at the entrance to the old city. I recommend valet parking - it costs 20 CAD per day and is available on short notice. The restaurant within the hotel is much better compared to what you usually get in hotels. Everything is freshly made and the menu offers some nice choices.

We stayed here on our first visit to Quebec. This is a great location to get around old Quebec. Only criticism was the quality of the room service meal. Cold DRY club sandwiches. We usually avoid room service meals which we should have done here, especially since there are so many restaurants within easy reach...we are wiser .. Again.

We recently stayed at the Courtyard Quebec for a three-night visit. The location couldn't be much better (just outside the walls) and the valet parking option worked out great. The staff was friendly and helpful. We passed on the in-house restaurant deals offered at check-in and did not regret it, although we did run into our share of expensive, mediocre restaurants within the Old Town. The two of us did begin to feel that the room was a bit cramped after three nights, but it was clean and comfortable. If you (like us) assume that housekeeping generally comes in the 10am-2pm period. you should ask about the schedule at the front desk. We would stay here again, but we would also look around at the properties in the Grand Allee West neighborhood just outside the walls.

My wife and I stayed at the Marriott Courtyard Quebec City from Aug 3-6 and loved the Courtyard Quebec City. It was so convienient to visit Old Town which was no more than 600 feet from the Gates of Old Town. The Marriott offered a very convienient Valet Parking Service that I would highly recommend to do day trips from the hotel. Their is also an RBS Bank 1 block from the hotel that we exchanged money at every day. The Marriott offers a nice breakfast coupon add on to get breakfast every morning. Day trips from the Marriott were a breeze and we visited Montmorecy Waterfall, Iles d' Orleans and The Shrine of St. Anne de Beaupre' with ease from the hotel. The convience to walk over to Old Town was so nice and we spent time visiting the Old Town and we ate dinner in Old Town at a different place every night. The Courtyard had a work out facility in the basement that was free and fine to do work outs but not very large. The Courtyard staff was very pleasant and very helpful with advice and maps and the Concierge made us a couple of great dinner reservations that we will remember always. The rooms were very clean and we recieved an upgrade and enjoyed viewing the gates of Old Town from our room as well as the St. Lawrence River. I would highly recommend the Marriott Courtyard Quebec City for anyone wishing to visit Old Town that wanted a clean room with a good hotel chain and a good staff located at a very convienient location that was not overpriced.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a view of the gates of Old Town
