My wife and I spent four nights at this lovely hotel during the Christmas holiday this year. We were very impressed with the friendly and attentive service of the staff. The room service menu was excellent, as was the dining room and other facilities.

When we return to Quebec City, we will be glad to stay here again.

We are Platinum members of Marriott and think this is one of our favorites. Here is why - The moment you walk in you are greeted by the most gracious staff. The hotle is unique - not cookie cutter - The small lobby was decorated for Christmas. It was festive and warm with a large beautifully decoarated tree and big Nut cracker next to the bar. There was a fire in the fireplace too.
The room was clean and updated. The bed was VERY comfortable. There was a small bar area with a small refrigerator. We made sure to keep some waters, wine and juice in there.
The hotel is small. The bar is cozy and we sat there a few nights for an after dinner drink. The bar tender was friendly and poured some nice cocktails. I ordered a creme brulee one night and it was perfect.
The breakfast was adequate. It was fresh, but not very exciting.
Across from the hotel is an ice skating rink - we enjoyed watching skaters of all ages!
It is a short walk to the old town. It was cold but we bundled up and brought appropriate attire
We plan to go back and enjoy quebec city in the summer!.

Room Tip: Ask for a corner room on a higher floor overlooking The Gate to the old town

Hotel was wonderful! Staff was kind, knowledgeable, thoughtful and very friendly! (especially two women at front desk and two men at the concierge desk) We arrived at 9am on two separate visits and our rooms were already clean & ready. Lobby is lovely especially with holiday decorations and rooms were neat and tidy. Fantastic location just outside gate to old quebec. Also with beautiful skating rink across the street. Overall 10+ experience!

It was exactly what I expected from a Courtyard Marriott. Good room, bed, service, food.
I have yet to be disappointed. Nice hotel.

We knew that we would be staying near the Old Fortifications but didn't realise that we would be right across from St John's Gate. It was fantastic, even if it was raining while we were in town.

We had driven in from Montreal and needed to use the Public Carpark across from the hotel for the night we were there (CN $17.50 with tax).

Our two rooms (306 & 304) were interconnected - although the interconnecting doors opened up right behind the front door, which made things a little awkward. Another challenge was that the rooms look straight into an office building. You can block them out, but they are there. In addition, the rooms are near the elevator (there's only one and it is a little small and slow), so there was a fair bit of noise from the hallway.

We had a lovely dinner at the hotel's restaurant (Que Sera Sera). The risotto was lovely but the Bailey's creme caramel was the highlight. Breakfast at Que Sera Sera was included in our room rate (be sure to get a voucher from reception if you have this deal - we didn't and it caused challenges at check out) and it was an American buffet with good choices and great quality.

The staff were absolutely delightful, so helpful and lovely to talk to about the highlights of Quebec.

I hope to make it back to Quebec in the future and would have no problem staying here again.

This hotel is easy to find and has a great location right before the gate to the old city. Valet parking is $20 per day, but the parking lot is right next to the hotel where you can park for $17 per day.
Lots of great shopping, restaurants, and attractions are within walking distance from the hotel, the car is not needed.
The rooms are spacious and seem to have been renovated fairly recently. The breakfast is OK, but a bit overpriced at $20. They will give you a 20% discount on the breakfast if you buy it in advance for your entire stay. The workout room is small, and if you are serious you will want to buy a pass from the front desk for the large gym across the street.
