Let Jacques and Silvie welcome you to their home. It won't take long for you to feel like it's yours too. Excellent accommodation, with nice views and great attention to detail. And awesome home made French-cuisine breakfast. If you go to Quebec, this is the place to be!

Jacques and Sylvie were helpful, flexible and very warm. They made us feel comfortable from the moment we arrived. The room was beautiful and had a fantastic view. We weren't sure how close the B & B was to the center of Old Quebec and we were happy to find out it was a short walk and an easy location to get around to all the sights we wanted to see. We had an amazing weekend!

We would definitely return to stay again with Jacques and Sylvie if we return to Quebec. They are lovely hosts and their B&B is perfectly situated - just a short walk/bus ride from the lower & upper towns. The breakfasts were delicious with lots of fresh fruit and good tea. They helped us locate a place to purchase day passes for the bus and recommended such delights as a sunset ferry ride across the river, which was beautiful.

Room Tip: A note about room 1: The sitting room had a great air conditioner and the room had a ceiling fan as...

We booked in with Jacques and Sylvie at the last minute from the Tourist Info Centre on the highway but I recommend you book this one ahead. We really lucked out. Jacques gave me perfect driving instructions and we had no trouble finding this unique B&B, 10 minutes walk from the heart of Old Quebec. What I liked most about this location was that it was on a tiny historic street near the river, at the base of the cliff, below the main old area of Quebec City. But the street was not filled with tourist shops and hubbub. It felt like a lovely string of historic houses filled with local residents going about their everyday life. Very charming.

Our hosts were so friendly and helpful, giving us great tips and ideas to make the most of our quick overnight stay. Quebec city deserves a much longer visit but we were pressing on to Gaspesie. Sylvie had just been out in that direction, made a great personal recommendation of a place to stay in Perce and helped me phone and make the booking. She also showed me some pictures she had taken of the area.

The room at the Hayden Wexford was quaint and filled with old fashioned character. The breakfast was yummy but it was the personal connection that made our stay most memorable..

Only one note. If you have trouble with stairs, the steep flight might prove challenging. Having said that, Jacques insisted on helping take our luggage upstairs.

A lovely place which I highly recommend!

We spent a wonderful two days and two nights at Hayden's Wexford house over Canada Day this July. The location is wonderful - right on the river, just out of the fray, but only a half mile walk along the riverfront to Petit Quebec for restaurants, music and more. OR, 5 mn. walk to the stairway up the escarpment to the Plains of Abraham Park and Citadel. The B&B really combines the best of old and new. We stayed in the suite, which has a huge and lovely attached bath, shower and changing room - up to date plumbing and tub in Victorian decor. We also had airconditioning. Breakfast was delicious - and conversation with our hosts Jacques and Sylvie fascinating. Ask Jacques about his photos of Canada's far north, where he worked for almost 2 decades, and Sylvie about her beautiful paintings in the sitting room. Or sign up for one of Jacques hot air balloon rides - his other business. You can't go wrong.

Room Tip: Ask for the room with ensuite bathroom

We had a wonderful night stay and look forward to returning. Our room was comfortable and decorated lovely, the bathroom was spacious and all were very clean. Jacques and Sylvie were great host! We enjoyed our time spent with them and the delicious breakfast they prepared. Perfect location for sightseeing the city and water. Beautiful garden attached for a glass (or bottle) of wine!!

As many people may know already, Jacques & Sylvie's Hayden Wexford House has overall excellent reviews. We also found the reviews to be promising and after our three nights of stay, we realized this was indeed the case! I don't want to repeat what others have already wrote, but with its close vicinity to the older part of Quebec city and unique antique interior that made everything more consistent with its surroundings, companied by extremely friendly people, I highly recommend Wexford house to be in your list of options if you're planning to visit Quebec city.

Oh, and most importantly, every guest room now has its own PRIVATE BATHROOM! As Jacque also mentioned, many of the on/offline traveler's guides are for some reason not updated with this fact.
