I came by train and much to my surprise and delight Jacques was waiting for me at the train! Right from the first i felt welcomed and at home. He gave a brief tour of the city as we went back to the B& B. They had suggested when I had initially reserved that if \i came early on the day of check in that i could leave my bags there and explore the city.Which was absolutely perfect! This B & B was 12 minutes from the Old Town which was great as you were away from the massive influx of tourists, could get your fill of the sights and sounds and then go back to your very quiet 'home'...The rooms were nice, period rooms,, on the third floor of the what was once a tavern. Jacques and Sylvie were great hosts. When I initally arrived jacques went over the map with me and pointed out the sights to see. After a great sleep Jacques and Sylvie provided me with conversation and information and of course a 'great breakfast! I would highly recommend this B & B !!!,

Room Tip: if you are looking for a room a bit removed from the 'tourism' of old quebec city which is c...

Wow, what great hosts we had. Jacques Greeted us as we arrived and carried our bags up to the third floor where there was 3 bedrooms all with their own bathrooms, and a nice sitting area. No TV, but who needs a TV when visiting Quebec City? We were too busy to do anything but relax when we came back for the night. As my Aunt likes lots of ice in her wine and beer. Jacque would be waiting at the front door for us with a big bowl of ice when we entered. Both Sylvie and Jacques would chat with us at breakfast, which was spectacular by the way, and tell us some of the good places to visit. We had to leave at 5 am to catch a 630am flight home, and although breakfast is not served until 0830, Jacque got up at 0430, carried our bags down and gave us each a bag breakfast with yogurt, croissant and a juice. to tide us over. Sent us off with a peck on each cheek. What a lovely farewell. I am certainly going to stay there again if I ever make back east again.

Room Tip: One room has a King bed and ensuite bathroom that is so beautiful.

Our Stay with Jacques and his wife Silvie was like spending time in the home of friends.Since their historic bed and breakfast was a 15 minute walk to the center of the old city. We were able to park our car in the (free) lot , right across the street and didn't need it again until leaving. Jacques (a hot-air balloon pilot and sculptor) was both a great conversationalist and and a great cook. My wife and I had a very pleasant few days with them.

Our experience there was excellent! The hosts Jaques and Silvi are beautiful people, and go out of their way to please you. The breakfast Jaques makes is gourmet, with lots of fresh fruits, berries, et cetera. crepes. Excellent location near buses, the St. Lawrence river and Old Quebec eateries.

Room Tip: Pick the room with the dedicated large BR in the sleeping quarters.

Wow - my family stayed at this B&B for two days in July 2013. Jacques and Sylvie are impeccable hosts, doing anything necessary to accommodate us. The B&B itself is wonderfully decorated, quite charming and hip at the same time. The locale is ideal for those who are willing to walk 10min to the Lower Town (or up 300 stairs to the Plains above) in return for a very quiet abode across the road from the river. Like everything else in Quebec City, it's not cheap, but it's certainly a better option that any of the higher-priced hotels or the more centrally-located B&Bs (unless you enjoy the noise of the touristy areas). There are scores of eateries and shops within 10min so you can't really make a wrong step here.

We have only good things to say about the Hayden's Wexford House B&B! We originally planned to stay one night, but fell in love with our accommodation, our hosts and the city and so extended our stay. Jacques and Sylvie are beautiful people, inside and out, and we enjoyed spending time with them over breakfast (which was always delicious and plentiful). They were kind enough to speak English with us when our French faltered and usually had interesting stories to tell, a laugh to share or great suggestions for what to see in the city. The room was clean and cozy with a pretty view out the gabled window of the river. Our bathroom was also very clean and quite spacious. The house has lots of character and were always finding something new and cool to look at. Because it's located down the road from Quartier Petit Champlain, and on a little side street, it's nice and quiet, but be prepared to do a fair bit of walking: both up the stairs to get to the third floor where the rooms are, and to the heart of Old Quebec City. We didn't think much of it at the time, but in hindsight it could be an issue for some people with mobility issues. We definitely will be back to stay again and hopefully take an air balloon ride next time too!

We stayed at the Hayden's Wexford B&B on July 15 & 16, 2013. What a quaint and pleasant place to stay. A few steps and you are in the beautiful rooms of this B&B. Our hosts were exceptional and very helpful in helping us know where to go and what to see in Old Quebec City. Wonderful breakfasts and pleasant company. Really liked it that our hosts were able to chat with us during breakfast.
