“Beautiful, cozy, overall wonderful experience!”
Reviewed 24 February 2014

I traveled with my band from NYS to stay here while playing in Quebec. The entire experience was fantastic! The rooms were cozy, the beds were comfortable (I drew the short straw and slept in the cot, it felt like a cloud!) and the owners were beyond gracious. Breakfast was delicious and served right when we requested it. I can't recommend this place enough for your next visit!

I am most happy we chose this B&B for our stay in Quebec in our recent visit to the city late September 2013 (found it through Trip Advisor).
It is a beatiful log house, basically new, decorated in a simple but tasty manner, located in a large property by the lake, surrounded by forests, very quiet, while just 20 minutes away from dowtown Quebec.
Our stay was during the first week of Fall, in the middle of changing colors of all trees... sepctacular!
The room was spacious, confortable, nicely decorated.
Sophie (owner) is very eager to make sure you feel like "at home"... specially with breakfast (what a breakfast!), different every day, healthy, plenty, and delicious!
Thank you, Sophie, for all your attentions during our stay.

NOTE: For health reasons, there is no WiFi in the house. At the begining it caused me some stress, but at the end it turned out to be wonderful to come back to the hotel and REST, instead of checking e-mails (at least for three days). Just something to consider...

Room Tip: When choosing a B&B, I always look for a room with private bathroom. To me, this makes a big di...

A week before our arrival date, Sophie (the owner/manager) sent a note of welcome which was a nice touch. Her warmth continued from our arrival at her beautiful wooden home, until our departure. Le Domaine du Lac Saint Charles is a large, wooden structure across the street from the lake. (While swimming and motorboats are not allowed on the lake because it is a water supply for Quebec City, Sophie did offer to arrange rowing accommodations for us to rent. However, just sitting on the small dock and watching nature was a relaxing treat and I enjoyed doing so immensely.) Our ground floor room was spotlessly clean and offered a view of the wooded area; it was as if spending time in the middle of a forest, though only 20 minutes from the heart of Quebec City. In the evenings, Sophie collected our breakfast choices for the following morning. The meal was thoughtfully prepared, filling, DELICIOUS, and served either on the deck or in your room. It was fun to chat with guests from around the world while seated on the deck. Le Domaine du Lac Saint Charles is THE place to go if you want a relaxing stay "away from it all" as the guest rooms do not have telephones or internet connections. (Sophie did offer the use of her personal phone or computer for business or emergency needs.) I would gladly return to this charming location for the fresh air, the clean accommodations, and Sophie's hospitality. She was a lovely, energetic hostess who ensured we had an enjoyable visit.

Our family of 3 spent 4 nights in this wonderful B&B. The location to all the places we visited was perfect...20 minutes from old Quebec, 20 minutes from Mortmorency Falls, and 20 min from Jacques Cartier National Park. Sophie's breakfasts were wonderful - we had a great trip!!

Sophie emailed us a few days before our trip to confirm our reservations and arrival time. We were worried we might not make the window of time she suggested, but she was very accomodating if we did not. The wooden lodge is located in a quiet, wooded neighborhood and it was an easy find off of the main highway. Our room was very cozy, clean and simply decorated.

Sophie is very friendly and the breakfast she served every morning delicious. She was very open to any additions or changes to it (for example I wanted a bowl of milk for my cereal), and also made a variety of treats for us (her omlette is the best!). We at at the table in the room the first morning bc of the cold weather. When it was nice, we were on the big deck enjoying the woods and the sun.

We loved how she guided us to a variety of restaurants & attractions not only in Quebec City but also in the area. She had maps, menus, buiness cards and pamphlets that we could look at and take. I also loved that she provided slippers for us to wear (bc of the cold), and had a number of DVDs available to watch. It's those small warm touches that make a place truly stand out.

We loved staying here and will definitely come back! Perhaps this time in the winter. The lodge is located close to a lake, but there was no direct access to it. We did enjoy taking a long walk along the road and once in awhile having a peak at it. We would reccomend staying here if you want to explore both Quebec City and the area.

Room Tip: We had the Queen bed room - very good for a couple. I believe there is a larger room if you are more...

My boyfriend and I headed to Quebec city for a little romantic weekend away. We had a nice stay in this pretty log cabin. We stayed in the room with the king bed. The room was spacious, nicely decorated with a modern rustic style, the bed was super comfy and we had a private access to our room via the french doors off the little terrace. The bathroom was big and had a nice deep tub. The place was absolutely spotless. Breakfast was tasty and very filling and we enjoyed that it was delivered to our door at whatever time we wanted. The cabin was easy to find and only a 15-20min drive to Old Quebec City.

We were a little disappointed that the rooms were located on the ground floor with no access to the upper deck and that the cabin was across the street from the lake (no lake view/no access to the lake) we didn't research much before we left, so I guess we didn't realize that we were renting a room in a person's house and not staying at a lakeside chalet! I think for the price I was expecting a little more. But regardless we were very comfortable and the owner Sophie was very sweet and nice.

Sophie was a wonderful host, and she made the experience very personal with her cozy bed in breakfast. Its a great place to stay if you're planning on visiting quebec city during the day but want to be away from the city during the evening.
