This is an old establishment, in great need of a complete overhaul. We couldn,t sleep because of the terrible rancid humidity odor, no matter how we tried to air the room. Cleanliness was below par, bedding incomfortable. The included continental brakfast was laughable (1 kind of juice, only toasts from industrial bread with cups of cheap fruit jam, no tea!!! available). Very poor uqality for the price!!!

I am 42 and have traveled a lot. Yet this was my worst experience ever; I hope we had slept in my car. The manager of hotel tells lies about everything, and promises things he can not offer. They charge you for services you have not used and if you are not happy and want to leave there is a $45 penalty (have you ever heard of this?). There is also a $0.65 fee for local phones which you'll note only on your bill. Breakfast is terrible, hotel is dirty and noisy and overall it kills all the joy of traveling to such a beautiful city.
I plan to come back next year and this time go to a real hotel/motel.

We change our room twice. There was some mold spores around the bath tubs. The bedroom carpet was quite dirty. The aircon was very old. Free breakfast was not very good. The toaster oven needs to be replaced. Keeps on burning our toast.
Needs a good renovation!!!

This hotel is in a cluster of hotels close to main roads but not much else of interest. Person at front desk was not negative but also not highly positive, either. The decor makes the place look like it should smell musty, but thankfully it doesn't. Slightly smallish room with comfortable bed and uncomfortable chairs what haven't been updated in many years. Standing wardrobe rather than built-in closet. No shampoo in rooms! Swimming pool hasn't been filled by late May long weekend (???). Wood subfloors and stairs everywhere make for lots of squeaks. There are several restaurants within a 5-minute walk and some malls 10-15 minutes away by foot. One could probably do better, even in the area.

It's a good hotel, but the comfort level is relative...
We stayed for 3 nights: 2 adults and a 3 year old in Double bed room. about $120/day.

First of all if your room is not right next to the receprion - expect a maze of stairs and hallways!!! if you are close to reception expect people passing by your door every 10 mins starting at 6am for breakfast!!!

In the Room: Everything is pretty small and basic - of course everything is there: TV, A/C, clean sheets, breakfast, etc. But the TV is rather small and only 3 chanels in English out the 20-something available. The A/C was blowing you off the bed and is pretty loud as it is pretty old ( turn it off and it gets very warm, very fast) ; and the breakfast contained of coffee/tea, sugary cereals, bread, bagels, jam and peanut butter, and canned fruits - so that pretty much all-sweets, which was a little iffy even though it's a buffet. I mean a little cream cheese or may be some cold cuts and cheese wouldn't hurt and may be a fresh fruit - nothing fancy, just apples... I like my sugars, but how much sugar can one consume in the morning! Oh well. THere are also a coule of vedning mashines - cookies, chips, candi!

Every 5th tile in the washroom was cracked, but water is hot and the cleaning personel was very very good!
About the location: The Good thing is that the hotel was right next to the bus that would take you to the Old City. Aquarium, etc. There is a Subway, Burger King and McDonalds around as well as a couple of restaurants. Nothing really for breakfast that we could find. Also there is a St.Huberts - very nice, friendly and affortable for lunch or dinner (there is a pick up as well as dine-in).
We didn't find Tim Hortons or Grocery store; and the only convenience store close-by was basically a booze store.

The pool looked nice and available - so that's another plus.

The staff was ok, except their English is very basic, so they couldn't answer the simpliest questions really, so don't count on that. I realize that it's Quebec, so French is there first language, but some basic English for the hotel has be availabla, no?

If you are looking for comfort all over - that's not exactly the place; and if you don't care about comfort much - then you can find something cheaper! so personally I wouldn't stay here again: either go a little higher in price and get the comfort (there are lots of hotels along that street) or go a little lower and don't expect anything...

The rooms needs a makeover. It's a bit dated. If you get a room in the back of the hotel, it's a long walk to your room. The continental breakfast is average. The 11 bus passes in front every 20 minutes and takes you into old Quebec in about 40 mins.

Ginger restaurant across the street offers good meals but a bit pricey. It's a good place for ambiance and to chill.
