A bartender at a typical Quebec City restaurant recommended this place to us. She learned of Jack's Saloon from a customer from Texas, who claimed the food was as good as any well recognized saloon or barbecue joint in the Great State of Texas. I have to agree. I travel the globe often, and I can tell you, this is the real deal in terms of barbecue, burgers, chicken and waffles, the best looking onion rings that I have seen in a long time, etc. Everything we saw come out the kitchen (including our own food) looked excellent, as people quickly "tucked" into their meals. Our waiter was very good at recommending meals and ensuring that everything was OK. He also seemed to relish our positive feedback.
Next time I am in Quebec City, I will be back at Jack's Saloon. A real gem worth going out of your way to dine at.
