“A very nice well-run local local restaurant”
Reviewed 14 October 2013

We wandered into this quaint local restaurant at about 6:30pm on a Friday night.
There were no tables - most were reserved - some for very large parties, but the chef managed to relocate her daughter (Simone) to another location, and thus freed up a table. What a treat. This couple ( he runs the logistics, she cooks ) She uses a refrigerator, one 4 burner stove, and voila!!! It was just lovely. Prices are reasonable, the ambiance is wonderful, and the hard work of the family-owned restaurant deserves recognition and patronage.

“Very homey and friendly... comfort food”
Reviewed 6 October 2013

We fell in love with this resto-bar a few months ago. Felt like our mom's kitchen... soothing aromas pleasantly teasing our noses, we knew that some comfort food was simmering on the oven of La Cuisine. Obviously, from mouth to ear, this kitchen is now always very busy. Eclectic crowd. Locals, artists, poets, journalists, musicians, and many more are filling up the place every night.
It is the place to be... inexpensive and busy as any good place should be!

We love the vegetable stew and the paté Chinois.
The poudding chomeur is to die for!
Noisy, Healthy and Happy!

“Yum”
Reviewed 20 April 2013

La Cuisine was highly recommended to me by a friend, and I loved it! It is a small, cozy place with large tables and stacks of board games all around for you to play...or not play - whatever. No one's judging you. The food is cheap (all meals $9.95), as is the tasty beer, the staff are friendly and easy-going, and the food is so delicious, you might make the mistake of trying to eat it all (they serve SO much) and then will have to walk for a couple of hours after, to try to loosen up your belt again. In particular, if you order the pâté chinois (a traditional Québécois dish - try it), like I did, you might want to share it with someone. Really. For a fun, local, and laid-back dining experience, La Cuisine is your best bet!

“Tasty homemade (but uninteresting) food”
Reviewed 22 February 2013

This place has plenty of character, value and good beer. But if you're looking for a dining experience don't go. Everything I ate was delicious but when I eat out in a new city I generally look for options that go beyond shepherd's pie, chili and lasagna.
