We came to Quebec City for a short family break in July 28-30th 2013. Our family of 5 stayed in the attic suite, it is an absolutely fantastic room, lovely décor and spotless. A really great place to stay with our family of teenagers. Close to everything and very polite, nice staff. It was especially nice to have the breakfast included, esp. with 5 people. Very good food and service. We will certainly come back here again. Initially, it was a challenge to climb all those stairs to attic but we got used to it. We enjoyed our stay in your beautiful inn!

Bonjour AngieP
Merci, for taking your time to send us feedback on your stay. We are happy that you have choosen us for your stay in In our renovations we have done our best to to save the old walls, while adding modern amenities like the bathroom heated floor to provide you a home away from home.

The Auberge is 2 old buildings joined together. The attic room, in which you where, is in the Renfrew building who was erected(1850), in Scotland bricks that came to Quebec as ballast in ships. This English period is reflected in the décor : red and white. Just to let you know, the ceiling of your room was made with the original wood floor. In our rénovations we took them apart one by one, then planed add fire retardent and back on the ceiling !

I will definitely pass on your kind words to our team who work really hard, but with pleasure, to make sure our guests enjoy every seconds of their stay in Quebec city and feel <l’hospitalité québécoise>. The chef, Simon, was proud to read that you where pleased with breakfast and glad that all the family enjoyed it !

Au plaisir de vous accueillir lors de votre prochaine visite à Québec !

Good front desk staff, especially Anton, right in the centre of the old Town,Tourist Bureau next door, the best we have used. Our room no 12 was a standard room looking at the restaurant air extraction unit, double glazed fortunetly the window did not open. The shower is in the entry ? . The room was clean,if the budget allows step up to a deluxe as there was very little storage for cases and clothes in our standard room. There is no lift.

Room Tip: No 12 looks at an air extraction unit ?

Merci and we really appreciate your feedback. ! I will definitely pass on your kind words to our team and specially Antoine who work really hard, but with pleasure, to make sure our guests enjoy every seconds of their stay in Quebec city and feel <l’hospitalité québécoise>.
Space is a prized commodity in Old Quebec so we have chosen for that particular room to put the the marble spa shower in a secluded corner near the entrance so you could, in the room, enjoy the 18in thick stone walls and superb brick chimney Many people love that room in the back because it is remarkably quiet and that the window open, if you wish, on the little herb garden on the roof.

Should you wish to have a larger room at your next stay, just enquire at our front desk team ; we have different categories of rooms from european size like yours to oversize as the loft overlooking the Château.

We tend to like quiet out of the way places and were dubious when on arrival we realized that the hotel was right in the middle of the busiest block in old Quebec, where the portrait artists set up, in front of the Chateau Frontenac. But our room was completely charming and quiet -- away from the street but with a window opening to a tiny courtyard. The stone wall was from another time -- everything small and compact -- a bathroom like a ship's, but classy and elegant. The service was warm and impeccable. A good value.

Room Tip: Decide whether you want to be on the street side to feel in the middle of things, or away from the s...

We stayed at the Auberge PlaceD'Armes in late July. The inn is very nice and the staff were incredible. They were warm and very helpful for those who do not speak French. Having the breakfast included was a real treat and was very good as well. The inn is in a very convenient spot just a few yards from the Hotel Frontenac. Many great restaurants and museums within walking distance. I can not say enough about the staff and the hospitality. One word of advice. There is not an elevator , so you will need to be able to climb stairs, but then again the entire city is not a place to visit if you are adverse to climbing stairs. I would absolutely stay here agian.

This hotel is located in the center of the Old Quebec, just in front of the Chateau Frontenac, walking distance of the best places in the city. It does not have an elevator but you forget that small inconvenience as soon as you enter there. It can not more charming and the staff is very helpful and friendly. They are always willing to help you and also they speak English. I will go back to this hotel without any doubt. We traveled with our dog and the breakfast was served in the room at not extra charge and excellent food. The folks at the front were helpful and friendly. The included breakfast was scrumptious with many choices. The location is perfect - right in the center of things. We were upgraded to a street side room on the first floor (second floor to us Americans). The double windows made the room perfectly silent. the stone wall was gorgeous, bed comfortable, personal air conditioning ... We are definitely will come back the next time we visit Quebec.

Bonjour Hope P
Merci for taking time to give us a feedback on your stay. What an excellent review and I agree with you our location is fantastic. At the corner of rue Ste-Anne and du Trésor the only 2 pedestrian streets in upper Town. The hotel, as you mentionned, has a lot of character since it is 2 old buildings joined together. In our rénovations we did our best to save the old walls , while adding modern amenities to provide you an unique stay.
I will also pass on your kind to our chef and his crew at the Pain Béni. We are the only small hotel in town with a quality restaurant and this allows us to offer morning, noon and evening meals of quality. Glad you enjoyed it !
We hope to have the pleasure of welcoming you back.

My husband and I recently spent three nights at the Auberge Place d'Armes. We were greeted by a very friendly staff and given a complimentary upgrade to a lovely large room overlooking the street (Room 1). Everything in the room was wonderful, including the comfortable bed, 3 huge windows, pleasant temperature, storage space galore, roomy bathroom and coffee maker. Our only quibble - the overall lighting in the room was a bit dim (only after dark, as there was plenty of light streaming in during the day). The location was superb in terms of access to everything and proximity to a taxi stand and the funicular to the lower town. However, it is a VERY touristy spot and there are streams of people walking by at all hours. The windows were quite soundproof so this did not disturb us. Ultimately we preferred to walk around the Lower Town and areas outside the old city walls. But this would not deter us from staying at this lovely hotel on our next visit.
We ate our first dinner at Le Pain Beni which was exceptional, and enjoyed our breakfasts there as well. The staff is all uniformly friendly and helpful. Highly recommended.

Room Tip: We loved Room 1 which is only up a short flight of stairs and looks out onto the street.
