Stayed for 3 nights. Lovely Hotel, very clean and super-efficient staff. Francine was very helpful to secure fab reservations for us in a hard-to-get place. Matt was super courteous and friendly, showing us a fantastic view from the penthouse. The location is spot-on for people who love walking and enjoying. The long bike ride along the St. Lawrence was perfect. This was a great stay. Thanks to all.

I loved my stay here. So many little nice touches like: a card left on your bed telling you the weather for the next day, always having the TV tuned to a classical music station by the time you return in the evening, free tea, coffee and flavored water all day and three cozy sofa areas to enjoy it in. The color-coded room numbers that let you and housekeeping know the state of your room. Buffet breakfast was free and not fancy. Just enough to get you going until you had a fancy lunch as you toured the city.

The staff is friendly, good-looking and the concierge helped straighten out one of my tour bookings when a problem arose. There are several steep stairs to climb to get to check in and there was no one to assist. Would be nice if a bellhop was more readily available since there is no elevator. Also beautiful art throughout the hotel.

I was on the 7th floor in a Classic Plus and had a great view of the famous Le Chateau Frontenac. I could zoom in with my iPhone and get great close up shots! The room was beautiful and well-laid out. Tall ceilings made it feel spacious. The bathroom felt luxurious with a rain and handheld shower, although my bathtub loving mother would have been disappointed not to have one. A refrigerator and Free Wifi I could connect to my on router for greater security were pluses for me. I liked the hardwood floors, but no one was above me so don't know how that sounds on lower floors. Bedding was comfy. Lighting was perfect. I liked the combo of modern with touches of old world.

The hotel's location in lower old town is perfect. Across from the Museum of Civilization which many group tours use as a pickup location. Easy walk to the Riverfront and Place Royale for food, shopping and beautiful architecture. I later found using the Funiculaire made it way easier to get to upper old town without walking up hill. Quebec City is hilly so having to walk down was better at the end of a long day, rather than up!

Definitely recommend and definitely will return.

The atmosphere and location was wonderful. The breakfast was great. The staff was exceptional- friendly but professional.
We would highly recommend Hotel 71 and Quebec City to fellow travelers. History and food are a highlight.
One fun activity was bike riding along the River.
