We stayed at this establishment for three days in March, 2007.
Hotel 71 is a quiet, clean, and modern hotel. However, it does not merit the exceptionally positive feedback on this site. The staff are, indeed, very nice and eager to please. However, they are all very young and seem to lack the experience necessary to take the level of service to the highest possible level. At times, they were a bit confused and could not coordinate simple functions, such as the valet service.
While it is true that they will order and pick up food for you from nearby establishments (there is no room service here), it is clear that not all staff members are aware of this. Keep in mind that a hefty gratuity is charged automatically on this. We tipped generously when our food was delivered, and were left with a bad taste in our mouths when we saw the charge on our bill upon checkout.
We experienced major inconveniences with our shower. While the “rain shower” does appear quite tantalizing in the marketing material, it provided us with lukewarm water which trickled down unto us and was not at all satisfactory. That aside, the rooms are well-arranged, clean, and generally quiet.
The "gym" is quite small and cannot accommodate more than a couple of people at a time.
Overall, a good experience, but one which did not leave us glowing with happiness and frothing at the mouth like some others on this site.
