“Beautiful Architecture, Wonderful Experience!”
Reviewed 9 June 2014

Everything about this area is exciting. There are entertainers on the streets, statues and artwork everywhere you look...even in little areas between the buildings. Although we do not speak French, we tried to say a few words and they obviously knew because they immediately replied in English, which we very much appreciated. Such a wonderful place to experience a little bit of Europe without actually "crossing the pond". Plenty of wonderful places to eat or just have a snack.

“Everyone is so Nice!”
Reviewed 8 June 2014

Besides the fantastic history, scenery food and shopping, every single person we encountered was so incredibly helpful and friendly. My French language skills are rustic at best yet we were greeted everywhere with a friendly Bonjour and a How are you to follow. The city is clean organized and welcoming to visitors.

This is a wonderful city to walk, although hilly. There are great sights, fantastic places to eat and lots to do.

“Practice French 1 hour on Plane From NYC”
Reviewed 8 June 2014

Old Quebec is a time warp of history and French culture. The French accent is very hard for an "un peu" French speaker like me, but it is amazing how you can enjoy this place, its cultural heritage, and its language while still being in the Eastern time zone. My wife and I came with our well traveled kids and we were not disappointed. The people are very nice and in a few days, you can enjoy most things the old city has to offer. We also spent a day tasting ice wine, creme de Casis and other goodies on Isle d'Orleans and another day floating the river in Parc National Jacques Cartier. Actually, floating on that river and thinking of the Native Americans and the animals (fur trade), made me really connect to the history. While here, remember, you don't need to do the romantic couple thing (although that is easy to do here), and if you rent a flat in the old town, you can really play like you are in France, enjoy these culturally distinct people, and have a blast just a few hours away from your home in the states.

“Amazing Place”
Reviewed 7 June 2014

Old Quebec is a treasure and well worth the trip. The buildings are well preserved and the historical significance of the area is incredible. Overall, it's just a charming place and everyone we met was so friendly and helpful, which was great since we don't speak French!
