The hotel is located just a few blocks outside the main gate to Old Quebec City, an ideal location for exploring and enjoying the city. There is parking on property, and there are many good restaurants just a block away. The proprietor is entertaining and extremely helpful. Would absolutely stay here again!

Stayed for 2 nights. Booked on internet and saved 10% since it was a last minute booking. Recommend this. Not full and doesn't appear it will be with tourism down. Arrived and Mr. DuLac was the friendliest host imaginable. Incredibly personal. Not used to such interactive service. He even hugged and kissed my wife goodbye.

Be aware: the room rate does NOT include the $14 per night charge for your car plus 13% tax. Since the parking is on-site, this does not seem reasonable. Nobody with on-site parking charges for the car these days. And the rate does NOT include breakfast. That is another $8.50 per person. So, the $124 rate, which is not inexpensive, turns into $170 with tax and breakfast and car by time you are done. However, we opted out of breakfast and went across street to Tim Horton's and had breakfast for $8 total.

The auberge has an older section and a newer section. The newer section is spartan but adequate. The air conditioning is incredibly loud in the room and interferes with sleeping. The rooms are dark and reasonably quiet otherwise. Again, adequate, not ample. A bed, a chair, a small desk and a bathroom with a small shower, not tub. Clean. Given the amount to do in Quebec, it doesn't matter since you won't spend time in the room.

Host encouraged us to purchase a dining package at a restaurant he recommended. This added $128 for the meal. He came and took pictures of us and gave us the CD as a parting gift. Again, above and beyond the norm.

The location is ok. Outside the old city. A hefty walk for some. The ebus will start charging $1 per ride as of July 1, which is less desirable. But, this is near Rue Cartier, which has a nice selection of restaurants. It is not a good spot if you wish to be in old city, but you can walk there in 10 minutes. Briskly.
Internet worked in rooms ok.

In all, the service is wonderful and the location is fair to good. The rooms are between good and very good, but not the Hilton. More of the French style. Would we stay again? Yes. Should there be a parking charge? No. Especially since everyone drives. Should breakfast be included? Yes. But, that was the only real criticism. So I gave it a B+ to an A-.

The reviews here say it all. Easily the best room of my travels - very clean, comfortable and reasonably priced. There are a variety of rooms though and I got one of the best, so can't speak for the others. The location is good although a 15-20 minute walk to the old city. The owner is friendly, courteous and goes out of his way to assist with any queries that you might have. A well known local, he can provide in depth information on anything to do with Quebec City. Highly recommended stay!

Our previous B & B booked us into "Aux deux Lions", with Jean Francois, and we could not have asked for more of a find! Not only are rooms spotless and tasteful, location is great (use the free shuttle bus into walled city only minues away)... our host Jean was truly excellent in his service....the minute we looked lost on the road outside hotel, Jean rushed out o greet us! He could do no more to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable-incredibly personal to all his guests. This hotel has great facilities that others don't ...guest kitchen, vernadah to watch the world go by, close to restaurants and supermarket that locals use, parking available etc. Have been travelling in Canada for 5 weeks and we would highly recommend this hotel (as Quebec City itself). You won'tbe disappointed with this wonderful hotel -check it out!
