Our first visit to Old Quebec (4 nights, August 2014) got off to a bad start because we had to spend nearly a hour finding the Champlain, and figuring out how to get to it, once we had entered the old part of the city. One long block of Rue Sainte-Anne is a pedestrian mall closed to cars, and the block on which the hotel is located was officially closed due to construction just past the hotel entrance. Both of these are situations we believe the hotel should have notified us about in advance; they were not revealed on maps, our GPS, etc.

The small hotel parking lot was full, but our car was handled by valet service for the same price, with free ins and outs available. The staff was very friendly, and mostly fluent in English. The location, on foot, was very convenient to both the old city area and an adjoining part of the modern city with many restaurants, parks, museums, etc. Our room was very pleasant and quiet; it had a view of the Château Frontenac as promised, and allowed us to watch a fireworks display one evening. The coffee and the breakfast were very good, although the lack of much fresh fruit was disappointing.

Would like to have given this hotel a higher rating, and would consider staying there again now that we know the "lay of the land". But they need to do a much better job giving directions to first-time visitors.

We spent three nights at this boutique hotel in Quebec. It was well appointed with air conditioning, free WiFi, a jacuzzi, a comfortable king size bed and nice seating area; also, it is within walking distance to local attractions. The breakfasts were plentiful and provided a varied selection from which to choose daily. The staff was lovely and helpful. A great place to stay!

My wife and I visited Quebec and stayed here and we loved it. The staff was amazing and very helpful. The room was very clean and had a small frig. Being located in the upper old city made it a very close walk to all the attractions. The parking was located on site, but a little tight; with our full size car we were able to fit. When we go back to Quebec City I know I will be staying here again.

Location. It's just a couple of blocks from the main square in the Upper Old City. The area immediately around the hotel is quiet.
Parking. There is parking literally immediately in back. Park in front of the building, check in and get your assigned parking space, and then pull in through the arch next to the hotel front entry. You enter the hotel through a door from the parking area then. It is in and out parking. It costs $16 per day which is reasonable compared to municipal rates. Make reservations in advance, as there are limited number of spaces. Note that road work is being done at the end of the block and there appears to be a detour sign. Ignore it and pull in front of the hotel, or move the detour sign over to gain entry. Local traffic is allowed.
Rooms. Nicely decorated with brick wall, striped paper, nice sitting area with not only a desk but a lounge chair and an ottoman. There is a small refrigerator in the room. Bath is small but adequate with plenty of hot shower water. Beds very comfortable. We had a standard room overlooking a brick wall and could have cared less. It was quiet and comfortable.
Rate. Reasonable for location. You can save $6 per night if you skip room freshening.
Breakfast. Wonderful. We loved the pate and cheese every morning. One morning, we had crepes and meat pies. Always cereal, fresh fruit, juice, bagels, toast. There is a wonderful 24 hour coffee machine with espresso, the best hot chocolate and tea. Around the corner on the first floor from the coffee station are vending machines, as well as a microwave.
Service. Excellent with friendly staff, at least one of whom speaks excellent English.
Wifi. Free and fast.
We loved our stay here!
