“Nice, convenient place to stay in Old Quebec”
Reviewed 18 August 2014

Stayed here for 2 nights in August. We has 2 rooms and we shared a bathroom between the four of us. The building is old and full of character. We also had a large sitting area with a communal fridge and access to the garden. The rooms were comfortable, clean and tastefully decorated to reflect the age of the building. It was a very convenient place to stay with parking at a very good price for city accommodation.
Caroline's breakfasts were delicious and varied each morning. Caroline, Khaoula and Youness are friendly and happy to suggest places to visit and where to eat.

A convent from the 1700s I believe. Really enjoyed our three day stay here. We had both rooms on the second floor. Beautiful original hardwood floors, eclectic decor. Antiques, things from Morocco, etc . Little microwave and fridge. Loved it!!! Conveniently located. You do have to do a little walking jn Quebec. Highly recommend for a small, intimate atmosphere with great food and company.

The building is located next to the old city and the main conference centers. I was there for 4 days, and even though the building is a bit old, the rooms are clean, and there is a kitchen and a living room. Caroline, the host, prepares one of the best breakfast I have ever had in a B&B, she really cares about her guests and likes to make them feel at home. A friend asked for a table to study and Caroline brought her one.
If you are not looking for luxury, this is a nice place to either visit the city or attend a conference.

Room Tip: I had a room that faced the interior patio, so I had no problem with noise. But the street is kind o...

It's a pretty nice B&B, inexpensive, well-located on a quiet street, walkable distance from most places of interest and activities, with nicely decorated rooms and pretty good breakfast. Just be aware that you might have to sleep with an open door when the weather is hot because there is no air-conditioning in rooms; and that you might be woken up at night by someone opening the bathroom door or going up or down the stairs - they squeak.

Me and my daughter stayed here last October - everything starting from location to host's wonderful service is appreciable - what really made me to write this review is that I had forgotten something there and she made such an effort to mail it to my address without knowing that if I will pay the postage - all in all I will never have to look for any other place whenever I visit this beautiful city again.

My husband and I are sitting outside in the back garden (on the deck) of B&B À l'Augustine in Quebec City, Canada and loving it. We bought some great cheese, pate, and crackers at a European style shop on Ste. Jean Street a couple of blocks away and are relaxing after a busy day of sightseeing. The breakfast this morning was delicious and satisfying. The owner, Caroline, is delightful and makes us feel welcome. We are staying in the suite and it is very nice. It has a fridge, microwave, wifi, and tv and is very roomy and clean. We would definitely stay here again. Location is excellent. The photos on line are very accurate.

Room Tip: I would pay extra for the suite.

We chose the suite with private bathroom on the main floor. While it looked pretty in the photos, the finishing was very poorly executed (think plywood TV stand in the middle of a turn of the century stone wall or a tiled shower in terracotta that was glued to a 2x4 board frame). The room was attached to main house but with a back access entrance through the kitchen. We went to access the B&B to exit and found we had been locked out! Needless to say, the entire set-up seemed a little random.

While the host was friendly, breakfast was lackluster: coffee served last (and we all want coffee first!), cereal placed on the table but no bowls or milk, toast and pancakes for breakfast (very carb-heavy) but no protein or special treats that are the reason people choose B&Bs.

Quebec City is teeming with B&Bs and there are better price to value ratios in the city unfortunately.
