My 4 year old and I stayed here for 3 days last month, and this was the first time we stayed at a b & b for so long. The house was very old, so the floors are wooden and the windows are open always with no screens on them. The house is decorated such so that there are few modern elements to the room, so there are no clocks, radios, tv, etc. The location is great, just 2 blocks from Place D'Youville and to all the main attractions. And, the owners are awesome, and the breakfast every morning was really nice. The only concern was that the tv they did have was really old and had few channels- only because I had a child with me that wanted to watch tv sometimes, so we hooked up a VCR for her.
So, if you want all those extra amenities like clocks, cable tv, etc, I recommend the suites that cost more ( prices still reasonable, even in old Quebec) or stay somewhere else. Personally, I really enjoyed the experience of living in a historic building and I woulkd like to stay there again.

For our first trip in Canada, this B&B was the first in where we stayed. We stayed there for 4 nights.
First time also for us to get into a B&B. And what a amazing surprise !! Good place and few rates, we pay about 387$ CAD (taxes included) for 3 nights in a room with shared bathroom and a night in the suite room.

The location is very great, near the center of Quebec (5 min walk) by the near street St Jean which is very animated, in that to find a bar or restaurant. The street Richelieu where the B&B is very quiet.

The hosts Caroline & Kamal are very welcoming and nice. They made each morning the breakfast wich own-made yougourts, pancakes and fruits. The morning is a great moment to talk with the nice hosts and other tourists. Breakfast is copious.

You could park your car in the B&B for 5 $CAD a day. (max 3 cars). Some rooms gives view on the street, some others on the small garden (where you could have your breakfast when the wheather is warm).

great place ! i loved it.

This B&B is definitely a labor of love by its proprietors - Kamal and Caroline. The place oozes with charm and hospitality. The location is superb, as it is within 5 minutes (by foot) of the walls of the Old City. Rue St. Jean, one of the city's main streets is around the corner, so one is afforded both the convenience of a nearby busy street chockfull of restaurants, shops and cafes, and the tranquility of a quieter street (where the B&B stands). Breakfasts are fabulous - homemade yogurt, crepes, and other good old-fashioned French/Quebecois treats. Also, the big breakfast table gives one the opportunity to meet and chat with the b&b's other clients about the sights and sounds of the city (in French or in English)! My stay at the l'Augustine was definitely part of the rich cultural experience that I enjoyed while visiting Quebec City.

My wife and I stayed here and we loved it. The house is an original limestone situated on a narrow one-way street with free parking on the street on the weekends (get there before supper to claim a spot on the street). Our room was very cozy and decorated with a lovely combination of yellow colours and an old pine plank floor to die for. Our room had been kept as original as possible and is host to a wonderful limestone wall. Breakfast was great too... crepes, granola, homemade yogurt, juice and bodem coffee!! Caroline was an excellent host and we will return here again for sure. The wall of Old Quebec is a 5 min walk from here and À l'Augustine is a great location for visiting the old city. If coming from Montreal, take hwy 40 , it comes very near to À l'Augustine.
