This was a very nice place to stay. I read a few complaints about it's a far walk to the old city. This is totally false!!! It was a five to ten minute walk, which if you travel a lot this is not a long walk and if you don't travel a lot it still is not a long walk. The staff is very helpful with restuarant recommendations and will map out your day literally, if you want them to. The breakfast was very tasty. Book this B&B with confidence.

My wife and I started our East Coast vacation by first stopping in Quebec City for 3 nights. A colleague had suggested this place and I'm so glad I followed her advice. If, like us, you want to spend most of your time in Old Quebec and don't mind walking a little, then this was an ideal location. Our room was a little on the small size, but the atmosphere with it's brick wall and European feel, more than made up for that. Most B&B's or Inns don't give you much choice for breakfast but here there were about 8 dishes to choose from every morning, all delicious and all beautifully presented with fresh fruit (and I don't just mean a slice of orange on the side of your plate!). However, the thing that made this a truly exceptional experience, was the staff. Claude, Charles and the rest of the staff went above and beyond for us. My car battery died while it was parked their (my fault for leaving my electric cooler plugged in overnight) and I mentioned this to Claude thinking he would call a tow company to give me a boost. Instead, he took it upon himself to buy booster cables, moved vehicles around in the parking garage so that he could get next time mine and then boost my car and let it re-charge, all this while we were gone out for the day and at no cost to us!! Merci beaucoup Claude, you made the beginning of our trip a very pleasant experience indeed.

My boyfriend and I had a fabulous stay at this hotel. Our room, although smallish, was perfect for our length of stay (2 nights). The shower with a glass wall, open to the room, was a fun and unique feature. The service at the Auberge is perfect--personal and attentive. Claude and his staff of front desk folks (we met Raymond, Christian and Charles) gave us wonderful recommendations for sites to see and places to eat. Although the hotel is a healthy 15 minute walk to Vieux Quebec and other sites, we liked that fact, because it allowed us to see a part of the city that we may not otherwise have found. The shops along Saint-Jean, just five minutes from the hotel, ended up being my favorite part of the city. If you're a cook, be sure to check out the European food specialties shop. Breakfast at the hotel was perfect.

From the minute we checked in to the minute we checked out, our stay was great. The entire staff went above and beyond to assist us with recommendations for things to do, places to visit and restaurants to eat. The accomodations were great also. The room was smaller but perfect for two people. The breakfast was wonderful also. You will not be disappointed with Le Vincent.

Everyone mentions the service- Claude, the owner, and Charles , the concierge/manager are wonderful hosts. They make you feel so very comfortable and they are a wealth of information regarding restaurants and "how to get to" all the wonderful areas of the City. Claude makes an outstanding breakfast and the best cafe au lait . He is a host that will go out of his way to insure that you have a very smooth, very relaxing stay in Quebec.

The rooms are wonderful; so quiet because of great windows and wooden shutters; so comfortable because of a terrific bed and linens; so delightful because of brick walls, great lighting and a pretty sofa and pillows. There is a fine TV which we never turned on and there is a library of excellent movies to watch on DVD. The shower is a wonder- it could fit four people and has three jets (including a rain shower head) that give off excellent water power. It also stands open in the room which was fun

The location is wonderful. The St. Roch neighbor hood has a charm of its own and some terrific local restaurants. You are one block from the steps that take you to the Old CIty walls- it is a 15 minute walk, a bit uphill, but you see wonderful streets and buildings following the different routes into the Old City. We went twice a day - we wandered through the Old City every day and then returned to the Hotel late afternoon. We would go back for a drink at the Chateau Frontenac (a must) but then usually have dinner at the restaurants closer to our Hotel - the local places being more our style than the "tourist" spots within the City walls

We have stayed at many fine Inns and Hotels within the last few years , and the Auberge Vincent is an unusually nice place to stay - It's "different" in a great way and I would recommend this charming place to all my friends

My wife and I enjoyed a wonderful 3 night stay at Auberge Le Vincent where we were treated like family. Claude, the owner and manager, and his wonderful staff pampered us like VIPs and made us feel right at home on our visit to Quebec City. When we arrived, the evening manager (Gilles?) kindly helped us with our bags, helped us park our car, and guided us to a great block of neighborhood restaurants for dinner. Although the Auberge may appear to be located "off the beaten track" in the St. Roch neighborhood just outside of the main touristy old city, the location really is fantastic. Having booked online and never been to Quebec City, we were a little bit worried about the location of the Auberge on the map according to Mapquest. But once you're there, you'll see that the location is actually amazing and just a short walk from everything. The free, yes FREE, Cirque de Soleil outdoor evening performance was just a few blocks away from the Auberge, and the free Image Mill show by the waterfront was also just a short walk from the Auberge. And with Claude's wonderful assistance, and the other evening manager, Charles' assistance, we had no trouble navigating around town and finding great places to visit and eat at. Additionally, the breakfasts each morning were delicious, and included a tasty selection of eggs, french toast, crepes, etc. along with a marvelous selection of fresh fruit and homemade jams, as well as made to order cappucinos, lattes, coffee, and tea-- plenty of food to hold us over until a late afternoon lunch. And finally, the rooms in the Auberege were very comfortable and clean, and filled with all of the little amenities that make a difference- like good quality towels and sheets, flat screen TVs, and stylish glass showers with double shower heads. And when we arrived, we were even upgraded to a slightly larger room that was available for a portion of our stay.
If you're looking for a comfortable , clean and stylish Inn with a friendly and attentive staff, and are willing to stay just outside of the touristy area (a plus in our book) but still within walking distance of everything, then Auberge Le Vincent is the place for you. Overall, we had a wonderful stay at Auberge Le Vincent, and look forward to returning someday!

I really enjoyed my stay at Le Vincent. As people have already stated it is the staff that really make this place. Always at the ready with ideas for you to fill your day any any information you could want. You start the day with a beautiful breakfast and get to retire to a great room at the end of the day, Our room was on the small side but we knew this when we booked so if this doesn't suit you book a larger room. The open plan bathroom also may not be suitable for some but it was fine for me and the shower was fantastic. In regards to the location, if you have no intention of leaving the old town then there may be better alternatives but I fould it a great base for exploring Quebec. I would definitely stay here again.
