“Best Benedictine Eggs in Quebec city”
Reviewed 26 September 2013

Le Cafe Krieghoff most likely offers the best breakfasts in Quebec city. Among the weekend delectables are the Benedictine Eggs which set the standard to what they should be.

“Good lunch and atmosphere”
Reviewed 9 September 2013

The gazpacho was very good; fresh flavor and just the right amount of spice. Ham & cheese on croissant tasty, really good fries and good cheeseburger. Loved the ice tea. It was fun to watch the neighborhood go by. Would recommend.

“A lot of character”
Reviewed 5 August 2013

We sat indoors on a rainy night and found the interior to be like a renovated old house, with smaller rooms with a few tables here and there, paintings on the walls, old-fashioned lamps, and a lot of character. The cafe itself is in an interesting neighborhood with many shops. We parked on a residential street a few blocks away which seemed to allow parking without a permit for 90 minutes after 7 pm. (At least that's what I think the sign said, and we didn't get a ticket.)

We were looking for some traditional French comfort food on a cool night after a long day of driving, and the cafe provided it. The quiche lorraine was fine, and the salad that came with it was excellent. The croque monsieur was very good. The waiting staff was friendly and spoke pretty good English, although there was a mix-up about a duplicated order, which we paid for because we felt it had possibly been due to a language misunderstanding.

I'm not sure if I would recommend the cafe for young children; my preteen was the youngest person there.
