“Beautiful!”
Reviewed 27 June 2012

I recently stayed at the Marquis de Montcalm on a biking trip from Montreal to Quebec City. The bed and breakfast is beautiful. We stayed in the La Palais du Voges room (sp?) which has a handpainted fresco across one wall. It is clear that Tam and her family take a lot of care to make each guest as comfortable as possible.

I highly recommend this bed and breakfast when in the Sherbrooke area!

(For bikers, it's about 10 minutes off of the Route Verte - but there are really no good Sherbrooke bed and breakfasts off the trail, so it's still a great choice!)

I came here with my mother, for a two-days vacation. The B&B is near everything and we didn't even have to use the car for two days! The owners are nice (and speak french and english), the food (breakfast) is great and the bedrooms are simply beautiful. So first, we had some great talks with the owners - they helped us to find some place to go visit and we talked about there familly. Second, the breakfasts were good, relatively big and diversified. And finally, all rooms have a private bathroom and even if we had a suite (spacious and angel-related), we saw 2 rooms and they were still pretty nice. The senery (statues, old furniture and drapery) was beautiful. Sincerely, we had a great time ! And sorry for the mistakes, I usually speak French ;)!

Than-Hoa and her husband Sylvain couldn't do enough for us during our recent stay. The room was charming, clean and very spacious. Every day, we started with a delicious breakfast. They wanted to be sure that we enjoyed our stay. They know the area, asked us about what we would like and then recommended restaurants in Sherbrooke and nearby Magog, parks and gift shops.

The town is lovely, people are very friendly and there is a lot to do in the surrounding areas, which are easily accessible. You'll have a great time here!.

Being retired, we travel extensively and prefer B&B's to hotels. The Marquis isn't plush but it is a very nice B&B, probably the nicest one in Sherbrooke. We felt lucky to find it on the internet. Our king suite was spacious, sparkling clean and comfortable with a private bath. The breakfast was included and it was outstanding. The hosts were very helpful in giving remmendations for restaurants in the area.

This B & B was recommended by the tourist information and is quite a jem. We got the last room. It was not large but comfortable and very clean. We were given directions to restaurants within walking distance; suggestions on which towns to visit in the outlying areas. Very knowledgeable about their vicinity. Breakfast was delicious. In all, a place that I would highly recommend if you are visiting Sherbrooke. It seems best to book in advance, if you are able.

Room Tip: There are a number of stairs to the home..if you have mobility issues, this would not be a good plac...

Stayed here for 2 nights in the Cours de Versailles room (king suite). Exemplary service, I cannot say enough about our lovely hosts. They made us feel welcome and went above and beyond, allowing me to use their computer and printer to make Via Rail bookings, phoning for cabs, offering restaurant suggestions. The breakfast, both days, was excellent. The first day we had one of the most delicious yoghurts I've ever had, French toast with lots of fresh fruit, and a fantastic cafe au lait. The second day we had yoghurt (a different flavor), and scrambled eggs with mushrooms, ham and cherry tomatoes, along with another delicious cafe au lait. The bed was very comfortable with a nice thick pillow top and the suite was clean from top to bottom. The furnishings in the room were a bit haphazard - a bit of this and a bit of that with little real cohesion but this is a minor complaint. I would definitely stay here again. $124 per night including breakfast.
