Auberge du Lac Saint-Pierre
Ranked #1 of 18 Hotels in Trois-Rivieres
Certificate of Excellence
Reviewed 15 March 2014

If you are looking for a small "traditional" and comfortable inn surrounded by a peaceful and quiet scenery, this is it. We asked for a river-view room in a higher floor with balcony. That is exactly what we got. The room was comfortable and so was the full supplied bathroom. Our package included both dinner and breakfast. The food was excellent! This hotel is located a few minutes drive outside Trois Rivieres and offers the best of both worlds: proximity to a city with a nice and walkable historic district as well as a location in a neighbourhood with beautiful treed properties by a lake. Perhaps, there are some areas that could make use of some upgrading, however, we appreciate the "small inn atmosphere" even if is a bit tired, as opposed to the up-to-date "comforts" of the large chain hotels. We stayed at this property a number of times and would go back any time.

Room Tip: River view rooms are pricier but worth it.

This Auberge is indeed a hidden gem like a previous review states.

This is one of the few times in recent memory that both my wife and I thought it was better than we expected!

The salon rooms are a great deal and well worth the price!

The service is beyond reproach as we could not ask for more!

The food for dinner is a very well priced meal for a table d'hote meal that you would be paying twice the price in any larger city! The breakfast is a little over priced but not outrageous if you want to eat a meal outside looking over Lac St Pierre and enjoying the view.

I am not sure why the review from Briansz "Hotel for Yuppies" was so negative as this place is not at all overpriced and if he chose to stay here after seeing the prices and menu why he didn't go to the Best Western for their great rooms and free help yourself breakfast instead of coming here and then crying about it??

I would have no issue coming here again (which we are doing) and staying in the same room with the same meals and the same staff and I can assure you we are no "Yuppies" under any circumstances.

Please don't be misled by the other negative review and decide for yourselves. Check out his other reviews and you might find a lot of negative reviews.

River view rooms are well worth the money but ANY room is GREAT!

Spoke to a number of guests and they all felt the same!

Only thing you should know is beware there are No Elevators.

This is indeed a GEM for property, rooms, staff, food and most of all the view!

Room Tip: River view rooms are well worth the money but ANY room is GREAT! Spoke to a number of guests and th...

This hotel blends beautifully with it's surroundings on a treed lot on the Saint Lawrence river. My room had a balcony facing the front garden. The bathroom was spacious and the shower excellent. There were many spots to sit indoors and out as well as a large swimming pool.
Highly recommend this hotel.

By coincidence we found this Auberge, but what a great coincidence. Our room was beyond belief and had a double jacuzzi, which is great after a very long drive. Our five-course dinner with local and regional products was delicious, the plates being culinary masterpieces, both in presentation and in taste. Staff was very friendly as well. The Auberge is beautifully located and from the terrace you have great view at the Lac Saint-Pierre. We can highly recommend Auberge du Lac Saint Pierre and it's friendly staff.

My sister & I stayed for one night at the Auberge. We simply loved the place!! The people are extremely friendly, the room was very large, had 2 queen size beds, good size bathroom.
We booked with the 5 service gastronomic dinner and breakfast. At dinner each course was absolutely exquisite and the server very professional and friendly. Breakfast was also delicious. We are already making plans to go back asap!!
The Auberge is right on the lake and the grounds manicured. You can sit outside and admire the nature, very zen.
Thank you CHEF for being so creative.
The only negative remark I could make is that the bouquet of fake flowers are NOT very nice.

Room Tip: We had a room on the first floor and were happy.

This hotel attracts the cottage yuppy crowd that can afford it's fluctuating room rates and expensive meals: breakfast, lunch and dinner. Of course this hotel uses the fact that it's in proximity of lac Saint-Pierre which attracts avid yuppies in search of their self entitled souls rights to all the best sites money can buy. Obviously a nornal family with limited assets cannot afford these extravagant prices for a simple room which is not even at the level of a Best Western Plus with breakfast included. In this hotel breakfast is never included unless you pay extra which in fact comes to buying your own breakfast and pretending one got a deal. As Josephson once said being a yuppy is not a lifestyle but a distorted way of thinking of ones self entitlement to everything one can consume with enough money which hence keeps this hotel expensive and out of reach of the middle class with limited assets.

We spent 4 days in Trois-Rivières and had chosen l'Auberge du Lac. Perfect hotel quiet, with an excellent restaurant and very good breakfasts à la carte. The breakfast buffet is a little bit poor but the individual dishes are very good. The restaurant is able to serve excellent meals at honest price. Friendly staff, confortable rooms, clean and well-maintained, nice swimming pool with a wonderful view on the Saint-Laurent River. 15 mn ride to the center of Trois-Rivières but worth the distance for an excellent stay in Quebec. Highly recommended. By the way, what a place ! Canada is a wonderful country...

Room Tip: The room with a mezzanine is nice. It has an unusual volume and gives you more space than a classic...
