It is however the top restaurant in Trois-Rivières.A bit fancy for some, somewhat expensive, but a great view of the St-Laurent river.

Lunch at the Poivre Noir was a wonderful experience, from the warm welcome through the creative and delicious plates, to the view of the St. Lawrence on a sunny Spring day. The prices were very reasonable. We liked that the dessert was not included as sometimes an entrée, main and dessert can be too much, but meal had been so good we had to at least split a dessert. The special wines on offer matched the plates very well. We will go back there for sure. This restaurant is near a trendy renewed downtown area with shops, bars and restaurants, which along with the amazing view from the restaurant, make it an attractive mid-point when travelling between Quebec City and Montreal.

Find your way to this unique place; it's worth the search. Although portions are modest, the flavours are not. This was perhaps the 8th visit and far from the last. Road trips from Montreal to Quebec are timed so that we will be in Trois-Rivières at lunch time. Menu varies based on what this very talented chef has available from quality suppliers. He makes his dishes sing and presents them with style. Hard to say anything negative. Be a little patient, because it takes a little time to create perfection. It'll worth the wait.

I had a 3 courses meal for diner. The food was very good and delicate. The only thing is the portion are very small. 3 courses meal costed me 80$ without wine and I was still hungry when I left.
