Moose Jaw has a lot to offer the visitor but it helps if you turn off onto Thatcher Drive first (the second exit from Regina). That way you'll be greeted by a giant moose, a splendid information centre built in 2003 but based on a local dance hall from the 1920s, and parked out outside, a handsome replica street car (trolley-bus) which now operates a circular trip around Moose Jaw. The vehicle seats 34 and carries a courier who gives a talk about the various buildings you pass. The trip last an hour and goes twice a day in May and June and three times a day in July and August but do phone to pre-book as times vary. Moose Jaw isn't beautiful but has a lot of museums and historical interest and it was actually the ordinary streets of houses that were the most beautiful -if I'd gone straight for one of the museums I'd have missed these. There are ghost tours by trolley at the weekends as well. The seats are a bit hard but this was a fun trip and the locals were surprised we'd come here on holiday (" did you get the wrong map?" one said!).
