“Good place to stay especially on a motorcycle”
Reviewed 20 July 2012

We pulled in after traveling a lot further than we expected due to no vacancies in Kindersley and Rosetown and were greeted by a very cheerful front desk staff which was nice after our frustrating journey. We ended up with a good size room on the main floor where we could keep an eye on our motorcycle parked outside our room. We were offered the option of leaving our motorcycle out front under the canopy if we wanted an eye kept on it which was a very nice offer. It was also great that there was a Ricky's open next door so we could grab a bite to eat without having to get back on the motorcycle.

In a nutshell, good staff and decent room for the price and time of year.

This inn is on the main thoroughfare, but offers a fridge and microwave to those who have to eat gluten free. A grocery store is about 8 blocks away that has some gluten free items. The rooms are clean. There is a Ricky's downstairs that has a gluten free menu! The food is great!

Only one staircase available for use (all others are emergency only with automatic alarm) and I got the last room of the hallway on the second floor, so long walk every time I needed to go outside or get ice; opening the staircase at the ends of the hallway to public use would be great for ease of assess and allow to park closer on the side of the hotel. Room was very hot when I got in and it looks like the mini fridg just got plugged in since it was warm (and there wasn't a freezer part in the fridg which is really helpful to get ice for my food cooler). Room was relatively small compared to previous hotels in the same price range and furniture was on the cheap side. Staff wasn't really helpful. My worst stay out of 6 hotels during this trip.

Room Tip: Ask for a first floor room to have direct access from the outside.

Dear Guest

Thank you for taking the time to review our hotel. I’m sad to hear that your stay with us was not satisfactory. Unfortunately the only parking on the sides of the building would be on the street so we have set up a designated parking area for guests at the front view of the hotel. I would like to hear more as you have noted that the staff was not helpful. Any information would be greatly appreciated as we are always aiming on improving our customer service to all our guests.

I can be reached at 306 244 5552

Again thank you for taking the time to review us.

I have always found that Saskatoon is an expensive place to stay possibly because there is a lack of hotel rooms and the city is growing too quickly. We have stayed at the Best western Harvest inn a number of times now and we really can't complain for the price paid. Its not immaculate and its pretty bare bones but it does have a restaurant attached and its kept up pretty well. Its just on gthe good side of the seedy edge of town so there can be the odd panhandler around but the hotel security is excellent and keeps the hotel property as clear of them as possible.

The beds are comfortable and the rooms are clean and for the price compared to the other hotels in Saskatoon is a good deal.

We will be staying there again.

Recently on our way back to Edmonton from the U.S. my wife and I stayed at this hotel. Finding the hotel proved difficult as thereis a lot of roadworks going on in central Sasktonn. When I finally did find it by sheer luck ( a billboard that you just about see by the highway ). The room was clean but the supplies ( coffee for one person, don't like those machines, tea, there was none, cream, also none ). When we went down for breakfast next morning we were informed that they did not supply any but there was a resturant available next door. After being use to Best Western in the U.S. supplying breakfast at all stops there we expect the same at this hotel. Poor service for the price paid.

Dear Guest

Thank you for taking the time to complete a review on our hotel and thank you on the positive comment about our clean rooms. I’m disappointed to here that you room did not have the amenity supply such as tea and cream and l will be follow up with housekeeping. Not all Best Westerns with a restaurant provide a breakfast for guest but we have added a Bed and Breakfast rate to include a hot breakfast for 2 in the Ricky’s restaurant which you can reserve by calling the Front Desk or visiting bestwestern.com

Thank you again for you review

The rooms are beautiful. On cosmetics alone I'd give it a 5. But when your eyes are closed trying to sleep, how important is the colour and the style?
Less so than the rock hard bed and the noise I am sure. Horrible sleep! The noise! People walking down the hall talking all hours of the night are normal, but it sounded like they were right beside the bed, you could hear folks talking quietly! The restaurant closes early, and service was awful because we came in 25 minutes before close. My friends French fries were under cooked and still partially frozen.
Upon early check out the desk staff seemed surprised about the noise but did tell us they plan to resolve the noise issues! Hopefully they do!

We pride ourselves to provide superior customer service and l do apologize that your experience in the restaurant was not a great one. Was at this hotel for a seminar, and stayed four nights. I was in room 231, the room was extremely loud. I don't know what it is, the view was overlooking the roof and I don't know if the wind was caught in the rafters or what there was a loud whistling noise, I couldn't determine what it was from but it was really really loud. It was really hard to fall asleep, and I can sleep through anything (so that is saying a lot!). The location wasn't the greatest either, and there was some homeless people around. The gym equipment was older. The front desk was nice and courteous.
