“Beautiful campus”

Whether you're a student, or whether you're just visiting Saskatoon, it's worth a stroll around the campus (though more enjoyable during the summer). Though perhaps smaller than other universities, USask has done a beautiful job keeping a unified architectural theme; its old and new buildings are very well integrated with one another, making it a pleasing sight. The buildings house all sorts of interesting history and exhibits, and the Biology building houses a miniature zoo/aquarium with wildlife displayed.
As a graduate student here, I find the University offers a wide range of research disciplines, and holds its own amongst other larger institutions. A wide variety of students from all over the world attend here, making it a wonderfully diverse place. Though there's been some widely publicized mistakes by the administration, and the university is facing financial difficulty (like every other university in Canada), I would recommend USask as a destination for education (if you're tough enough for the winters).

As a student there is not much to look forward too especially with the upcoming Transform US changes. I hold a Bachelor in Political Studies but that may soon be a Bachelor of Social Studies, which sounds like a certificate you would get in high school not something you get for the $20,000 or more dollars you pay in tuition or books. Disappointing.

However if you are a parent looking for a place to walk to or visit with the kids, the Bio/Geology building has dinosaur "bones" and fish tanks and the like, and the Agriculture building has lots of plants which may be fun to explore for an afternoon.

Want to sample the ambience of those movies that take place on spacious historic campuses like Princeton,Oxford, Yale, etc.? The University of Saskatchewan Campus - notably the Bowl - imparts that feeling in the summer and fall especially. A good time to visit just for a stroll is on the weekend - unless you like being part of the bustling student throng hurrying off to lectures. The U of S is known for its agricultural research. Horticulturalists and gardening enthusiasts in general will enjoy the flower beds, various trees and other landscaping features on the campus.
