The formal dining room of the gracious Senator Hotel in downtown Saskatoon has crisp white tablecloths, top notch service, and a delicious food and appetizer menu, as well as wine selection. While a bit pricey, I was more than satisfied!

I went to this restaurant with a group of people (about 12) who were all attending a conference in Saskatoon. The management gave us a lovely table in a separate room so we could all talk and get to know one another. The salad was well-presented and delicious. My entrée, duck breast with tiny potatoes and roasted vegetables was perfectly cooked. The wine list was extensive. The service was quick and friendly. The bill was very reasonable. The only weird thing was that we were told ahead of time that we could not have individual bills and that we had to pay in cash! We all thought that was very strange - is that a policy for larger groups? The management very thoughtfully had an ATM machine in the hotel lobby just in case .......

Went in for Sunday breakfast, and ordered the portobello mushroom, cheddar and bacon omelet. It was super greasy. Presentation was nice, fruit on the side was a welcome addition, but wow was the omelet and even the over-buttered toast ever greasy.

Lovely decor, wonderful food and terrific service.
If you are looking for a quiet dinner out with friends it will be tough to beat Rembrandts,
We enjoyed appetizers, drinks, salad for two prepared table side, steaks, fine wine and a shared dessert.
We enjoyed our evening immensely!

The personalities of the servers and our table just didn't click, there were only 3 tables in the dining room, but 30 in the banquet room, and we had to share the staff. Thus our service was only adequate, and our server's knowledge about the products, not so much. The amazingly noticeable assistant doing table resets etc, didn't follow up with tableside manner. The coffee was 6 out of 10, Van Houtte, and the coffee service; 4/10. Beverage service same.
So all in all the personal experience was very lacking for this very special occasion. Lastly, there was no one to greet or goodnite us at the door, and the waiter snatched up the tip off the table before we even got up to leave ! Fatal fopah.

The food however, was a totally different story !!! The jumbo prawns and chicken livers were amazing both in texture and presentation. They both had the taste of being on the grill and were fabulous.
The entrees were the pork, chicken, steaks, and were all super tender and flavourful ! Likewise the deserts of double chocolate cheesecake and bread pudding !

The lagostinos were sweet and sumptuous ! Overall a great foody experience.
The foh staff, need some elegance training, or I guess, just don't go when they have a banquet.
