This is a lovely small cottage with nice and helpful host. Place is clean with well equiped facilites. The location is just a few minutes walking from the hotspring. For those travlers who are light chaser may feel disappointed as the location is not good to see the sky. Plenty of trees nearby the house.

Thank you for your comments, we value your opinion. We regret that you found your northern lights experience disappointing. During your 2-night stay the aurora conditions weren’t optimal. Our previous guests have had great success in glimpsing the lights as you can see by the photos on the listing page, which were taken at the house. For an even better view, we encouraged you to check out Observation Hill, a 7 minute walk away with 360 degree views of the sky. The Yukon Astronomical Society is setting up an observatory there. We’re sorry the aurora didn’t happen for you that day.

“Home away from home”
Reviewed 21 January 2018 for a stay in January 2018

This private little house near the Takhini hot pools was just lovely. We enjoyed this beautifully appointed cabin very much. Breaking down our stay into categories:
1. the cabin: spacious. Loved the mud room with lots of room for our bulky coats and big winter boots. There were 'crocs' there for us to wear in the house. The bathroom was full of plush towels and bulk containers of shampoo, conditioners, hand and body soap and hand lotion - high quality and much appreciated. The medicine cabinet had a new toothbrush package in case we forgot one, and make-up remover pads - the hosts thought of everything. The bedroom had reading lamps, an excellent bed and the most luxurious warm duvets, very comfortable. We appreciated the many storage spaces and desk areas for all our belongings and electrical devices. The living room/dining room was very comfortable. We appreciated the DVDs and satellite TV even though we didn't need to use them much -too many other wonderful things to do.
2. the kitchen - such a pleasant surprise. (Most vacation homes we have rented have paid little attention to detail, and pots, pans, dishes etc are mismatched and of poor quality. Not here!!) Excellent stainless steel Kitchenaid pots, great fry pans, all the things we needed to cook our meals. And we were especially delighted to find the basics already stocked in the kitchen: coffee, tea, salt and pepper, lots of spices, some flour and baking powder, olive oil, cooking oil, vanilla, balsamic vinegar. This meant we didn't need to buy items that we would only use once. Again, great attention to detail by the generous and thoughtful hosts.
3. the deck and fire pit: we spent many hours on the deck chairs looking at the sky, and the stars at night. The hosts generously provided fire starters and lots of firewood for the fire pit, which we enjoyed very much on the cold clear nights.
4. nearby: an awesome (!) coffee roaster/café only 15 minutes away, we loved it. Just 5 minutes away were the hot pools which we enjoyed on two very starry cold nights (and the 20% discount was appreciated). The ski /walking trails were extensive and we enjoyed walking on them for hours.
The cabin exceeded our hopes and we enjoyed it very much. We liked being close to Whitehorse (30 minutes or less away) but were glad to be out in the wilderness. And the red fox walking by the kitchen window was a real joy to see. We recommend this cabin wholeheartedly. We will go back, for sure.

We loved our stay at Fay & Gunter's beautiful well appointed cabin within the Takhini Hot springs area.
This new cabin is super clean, well equipped with first class furnishings. It has a large fantastic deck for you to relax and enjoy the lovely scenery all around, it is so quiet.
We enjoyed sitting round the camp fire each evening. We could have stayed for ever.
Fay & Gunter are fantastic hosts who really care about your stay.
We would not hesitate in recommending the Springhill Cabin, and we hope to return again soon.

A quaint, VERY clean cozy cabin. The hot springs, coffee house are just skip away. Makes a great combo!
Whitehorse is only 25 minutes away, with amazing Klondike history. There are countless hiking trails and amazing beauty everywhere!
Owners really care about your stay.

“Cottage by the hot springs”

Wonderfully clean, well equipped cottage just walking distance from the hot springs. The owners are lovely and had lots of great information about places to visit, restaurants, etc. The cottage is about a 25 minute drive from Whitehorse, but as we were driving to various surrounding areas that was just part of the adventure. We would definitely book again and recommend to friends.

“Great cabin and location”
Reviewed 26 June 2017 for a stay in June 2017

Excellent location away from the city but too far and comfortable cabin with all amenities. The deck faces south and provides sun all day and enough tress around that you can also find shade if you wished. The owners are very friendly and willing to accommodate your needs to make your stay enjoyable. I would gladly rent this cabin again.
