“If you love wild life then it is must!”
Reviewed 4 July 2014

I just visited Yukon Wild Life Preserve today. I loved it. But keep in mind this is a preserve not a Zoo. I was not able to see one animal but all others were visible most from decently close distance.
Nice scenery around. I did not had enough time so I took bus but if I had time I would have done it on foot. Great for photography.

“Better than I remember it!”
Reviewed 1 July 2014

It has been a long time since I have been here and boy what difference time has made! The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. There are two kinds of tours you can do, you can either walk or take the bus tour that leave at certain hours. We did the walking tour as it was cheaper and allowed you to go at your own pace and spend time where you wanted to. I would recommend going as early as you can in the morning as that is when the animals seemed to be the most active. The path is easy for anyone to walk or there is another path closer to the fence to get you some better viewing of the animals. Defiantly bring bug spray if you go in the summer months as the bugs are relentless and will try to drain you dry. A pair of binoculars and water would also be a good idea. A camera is a must as the scenery itself is gorgeous. You can even bike the path if you would like. Overall well worth the money and a great time for a family or persons interested in outdoor photography!

“See wildlife up close”
Reviewed 1 July 2014

Rehabilitated and well taken care of wildlife. Beautiful grounds to walk around and a bus to tour those who don't want to walk.

“Very pleasantly surprised!”
Reviewed 25 June 2014

We were in the Whitehorse area and happened upon the preserve. We went in thinking it would be a nice opportunity for a walk in the beautiful Yukon area. Wow! Great place to see local species of wildlife. We saw so many rare and unique animals ( to us) and were very impressed with the cleanliness and the care of the animals. The staff were very knowledgeable and friendly. Would recommend this to anyone wanting a close up look at the wildlife that live in the Yukon. Children would certainly love it, too.

“Enjoyable hike, interesting animals & impressive scenery.”
Reviewed 23 June 2014

The 5K hike was enjoyable, not just because it was a sunny day, but the Yukon scenery is so impressive. The steep grade at the back of the property was a bit challenging, but manageable even for those whose fitness level is a but challenged. The animals were interesting and entertaining. So nice to see them in large living spaces. Though a bus tour is available, check ahead before going if that's your preference. the day we went the time slot we preferred was all full. Am glad we chose the walk as we could take our time and likely saw more as a result.
