Description: Since 1997 Bean North Coffee Roasting Company Ltd has been roasting certified organic fair trade coffee in the northern boreal forest of the beautiful Takhini Valley, northwest of Whitehorse, Yukon Territory, Canada. We have been offering coffee lovers a sustainable choice... premium quality certified organic and fairly traded coffees from around the world. We believe that the farmers who grow our coffee deserve a high quality of life and a healthy environment to live and work in. Following that belief, we have been building long term working relationships with producer groups and paying a fair price. That ensures higher quality coffee and allows farmers and their communities to achieve some of their dreams. We continue to be inspired by the people who grow and care for the coffee we buy, by our coop that facilitates its transport north, by those who roast and brew a magic blend and by customers who love our coffee and support what we do. North to South, Fair Trade is about relationships, people, family, birds, and communities. By choosing to drink certified fair trade coffee you are part of a powerful medium supporting positive social and environmental action. Can you taste all this in a cup of Bean North coffee, you ask? Yes! And you get great tasting coffee too... Come visit our cafe in the woods! We love to serve you an exquisite espresso and a sweet treat that you can enjoy on our patio. Our kitchen also has delicious soups available as well as a variety of paninis, ranging from a rich cheese bomb to herbed chicken & greens or the well-loved tomato mozzarella combination.

Great coffee and wonderful hosts, and all fair trade to boot - the web-site is also fast and easy to use if you want to brew some of their blends at home.

“Pleasant Visit to a Northern Icon”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 July 2013

Bean North Cafe is developing a sizable following. It specializes in fair trade coffee, good service, excellent coffee and good treats. The Takhini Hot Springs Road cafe is relaxed and easy-going -- a delightful way to start the day (it opens at 11 am) or to finish off a dip in the Hot Springs. This is the kind of establishment that one really wants to see succeed. They deserve the support and business and provide an excellent cafe experience.

“Coffee House Out in the Wilderness”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 February 2013

It was so neat to come upon this coffee house far outside Whitehorse (about 35 km).Wonderful coffee blends and a really cozy atmosphere. We took home their Northern Comfort blend, their Tombstone Espresso, Kuane Sunrise and Ethiopian Harrar. All so well blended. The employee at the till was also very, very nice. There is something about Yukon people - so friendly and straight on. We loved our visit to Bean North.

“A good destination”

I like to drive out here on a sunny summer day. So far I've only bought coffee and ice cream but would like to sample other items. The garden and grounds are beautiful in summer.
