“Great coffee ! Funky place.”

Bean North Coffee Roasting Company Limited
Certificate of Excellence
Price range: US$2 - US$8
Cuisines: Canadian
Description: Since 1997 Bean North Coffee Roasting Company Ltd has been roasting certified organic fair trade coffee in the northern boreal forest of the beautiful Takhini Valley, northwest of Whitehorse, Yukon Territory, Canada. We have been offering coffee lovers a sustainable choice... premium quality certified organic and fairly traded coffees from around the world. We believe that the farmers who grow our coffee deserve a high quality of life and a healthy environment to live and work in. Following that belief, we have been building long term working relationships with producer groups and paying a fair price. That ensures higher quality coffee and allows farmers and their communities to achieve some of their dreams. We continue to be inspired by the people who grow and care for the coffee we buy, by our coop that facilitates its transport north, by those who roast and brew a magic blend and by customers who love our coffee and support what we do. North to South, Fair Trade is about relationships, people, family, birds, and communities. By choosing to drink certified fair trade coffee you are part of a powerful medium supporting positive social and environmental action. Can you taste all this in a cup of Bean North coffee, you ask? Yes! And you get great tasting coffee too... Come visit our cafe in the woods! We love to serve you an exquisite espresso and a sweet treat that you can enjoy on our patio. Our kitchen also has delicious soups available as well as a variety of paninis, ranging from a rich cheese bomb to herbed chicken & greens or the well-loved tomato mozzarella combination.

“Great coffee ! Funky place.”
Reviewed 30 July 2014

Called in here in between the Wildlife preserve and hit springs. Spent a relaxing hour on the patio/ garden with an excellent cappuccino, lots of coffees to choose from all freshly ground/ made. Didn't eat but the food looked great.
You can sit inside or out, and take home coffee beans which they will grind fior you.
Definitely worth a stop here

This was some of the best coffee that we have been able to enjoy in Canada. Friendly service and a great cup of coffee to get you on the long road.

“Just OK”
Reviewed 15 July 2014

We made a special trip out of town based on Tripadvisor reviews of this coffee shop, and didn't quite share the enthusiasm. It was pleasant weather so we sat outside which was nice (but I wish I had brought insect repellent...). The coffee was fine, but the service not so much. There were no other customers when we arrived, and the young man behind the counter did not greet us - in fact, he did not even make eye contact. We ordered Americanos with room for milk, and he made two espressos which he put down on the counter along with a small pitcher of hot water. He waited while we poured our water into the coffee, then set down a 4-litre bottle of milk on the counter. Awkwardly, we added the milk, moved the coffees aside, picked up the oat cakes we had ordered, and paid for the lot - all in silence. When we were finished, I carried our cups back inside with any acknowledgement of our existence from the barista. However, we did get a friendly greeting from the resident dog! All in all a strange experience, especially in Yukon where people are generally so friendly.

Stopped in after the hot springs! Coffee is absolutely spot on! We each enjoyed an Americano it was a full bodied coffee with a very smooth taste! Had the Gluten free chocolate macaroon which was a perfect treat after the coffee and soup of the day! Good place for coffee or a lunch!
