This was our 6th trip to Fiji and by far our best family holiday. Watching our two boys aged 9 & 12 with the local village children was absolutely priceless. They played, sang, swam, laughed, went to school, snorkled, climbed trees, had endless bilabial races, played with the puppies, had a huge bonfire and dinner on the beach, made so many mates and went to bed exhausted every night!
Mostly though we will remember our amazing village hosts for such warm, caring hospitality which truly made us feel like part of the family and village community.
Thankyou Tupou, Sake, Louisa and Henry for making such a difference!!

Every vacation has that moment that you know you'll remember forever and for us that moment was the time we spent at Danny's Homestay. Sake, Tupou, Henry, Luisa, Cassa and Joanna couldn't have been nicer or more welcoming. We truly feel that we've made new friends in Fiji and are so thankful to have gotten the chance to experience Fiji outside of the resorts. Between the hospitality, the delicious food, the local adventures and the first-hand glimpse into Fijian life, we left Danny's full, relaxed, happy and eager to go back. Whether you want to explore the natural wonders such as the hot springs, check out the capital Suva or just relax and get to know the village, Danny's is a great place to be. And what Danny's can offer that no resort can is the opportunity to spend time with a warm, funny and genuine family and contribute directly to their village. We highly recommend Danny's and hope that others will take the opportunity to include this experience in their trip to Fiji.

Two of my cousins and I all stayed at Danny’s Homestay in June 2010.
We were warmly greeted like long lost friends and shown around the Homestay. The cabins are basic but very clean and comfortable. There is a flush toilet and a shower located in another building next door, and even though there was no hot water we did not find this an issue at all and if anything found it refreshing.

We booked into stay at Danny’s for 3 nights, at the beginning of our trip, and then we were heading to the Naviti for 7 nights and 1 night in Denerau Island. I thought the resorts would be the highlight of our stay and really did not know what to expect from the Homestay. We were concerned that we would be bored after a day or so, how wrong we were. We were never bored whilst at Danny’s and in fact really had trouble adjusting to being in the resorts. There is so much to do at Danny’s to suit all ages. We visited the school, which was such a highlight, the children sang us songs and showed us how they could read English. We had a traditional massage, explored the village, and met all the locals, we watched the local football teams practice and played with village kids. We were lucky enough to go on a bilabial raft ride which was such a great experience and we had so much fun.

While we were staying at the Naviti, the local football team played at their home ground, which is located right near the resort. We went to watch them defeat the opposing side, which was very exciting. After the game, we were invited back to the Village to participate in a local ceremony. We stayed for dinner, which was Lovo, and as with all the food at Danny’s it was divine and far surpassed all the other food we had in Fiji. We never went hungry and were always encouraged to “have more food”.

We can’t wait to go back to Danny’s Homestay as it really feels like a home now, and Tupou, Sake, Henry, Louissa and Cassa are all now our Fijian family. We still have so many things we want to experience like going to the waterfall and hot springs that we will not bother to book into a resort next time we will spend all our time at Danny’s.
Words really cannot describe what a truly amazing and unique experience we had at Danny’s Homestay. I would highly recommend staying with them if you want to experience the “real Fiji”.

We stayed at Danny's Homestay at the end of our trip to Fiji. My husband, 3yr old daughter and myself travelled with my sister, her husband and two children (5yrs and 3yrs). We stayed for 6 nights in resorts on the Coral Coast and whilst they were lovely it wasn't until we arrived at Danny's that we truly began to enjoy Fiji and what it had to offer. We felt like a part of their family, we loved how traditional the village was and my little girl still talks about Fiji and how she wants to go back to the beach and her rainbow princess bed (a bed with a multi coloured blanket and mosquito netting that made her feel very special!). We were greeted each morning by the charming local children who couldn't wait to play with our three children. We loved every moment, felt so secure and safe to let the kids run around the beach and swim in the river with their new friends and became very attached to our hosts. We will cherish the memories of this part of our trip and highly recommend Danny's to anyone looking for a true Fijian experience. To say it was special is an understatement. The tears as we left said it all.

As soon as we arrived at Danny's we were made to feel very welcome and that continued throughout our 4 day stay. Tupou and Sake really have a homestay to be proud of from wonderful huts to stay in to fantastic food...and lots of it! The entire stay was a real family experience with everyone ready and willing to help out with making you feel like a part of the village. We visited the local school and spent a lot of time in the village socialising with the locals and attending church. Henry (Tupou's brother) helps out taking you wherever you would like to go inside or outisde of the village. We had a great day out when he took us to the village rugby game and we were more than content to chat to other fans while he played. One night Tupou and Sake arranged a wonderful bonfire and LoVo (traditional Fijian meal) for us on the beach and even had a friend come and play his guitar for us...the evening was fantastic! If we end up in Fiji again anytime soon we will definitely go back! A real Fijian experience with the most amazing people...a MUST DO for anyone!
