We were heading back from Fogo Island to St. John's and wanted to break up the drive. We searched on Tripadvisor for a good B&B to spend the night. As it turns out we were a bit early as the season did not really open until May 1st and we wanted to stay April 29th. Peggy and Boom quickly agreed to open early and we became the first guests of the year.

Great location on the water and surrounded by trees. Total privacy in your unit, one of three that might remind you of a motel. The rooms are very cozy, spotless and comfortable. The location in Gambo is perfect for day trips to several areas of the Province.

Breakfast served in the 'dining room' is excellent but the highlight is the conversion ( entertainment) with Peggy and Boom. They are both going concerns.

We hope to venture back to this part of Newfoundland and we will certainly look forward to a return to the Freshwater Inn.This was a very positive, comfortable and enjoyable stay.

Best of luck to Peggy and Boom.

Excellent service, delicious food, generous and very thoughtful owner/operators who provided very comfortable, almost luxurious, upscale, private accommodation in park like secluded environment. This stop was a great "restful" evening, and breakfast the following morning, accompanied by interesting and personal conversation, included three courses--all delicious. This quilter was even provided with a personal gift of a small NFLD quilting project--a very kind and generous gesture,

What a stunning little gem, hidden away in a tiny town of 2000. Beautifully appointed, with all the amenities you might need and a stunning view of the bay. But that`s not what makes it special. It`s your two wonderful hosts. Peggy seemed to have a sense of what you might need before you even ask. And as for Boom ... he very graciously stepped up to drive me to a family get-together after the sudden passing of a very close friend. Selfless and extraordinarily understanding of a difficult situation. Would highly recommend ... and will plan a trip with my husband under more pleasant circumstances. Thanks Peggy and Boom! XO

This B & B is truly remarkable! The setting by the water is sublime.
Our huge room was cozy and spotless and so unique, particularly the ensuite bathroom. The rooms are located in a separate building from the main house. Very quiet.
Peggy and Boom are wonderful hosts. We felt very welcomed. Breakfast was delicious.
Thankyou, Peggy and Boom!! You were a delight to know in such a short stay.

This place is very cozy and run by very welcoming people. The rooms are large and clean and feel very private. They also have great river views. Peggy is so easy going, friendly and makes and incredibly delicious breakfast. The wifi is free and worked without a hitch. Highly recommend staying here. Worth the ride from Gander.
