We went in search of a restaurant for lunch after a morning on the Mt st Michel and wanted to get away from all the crowds and find a less touristic restaurant serving the local lamb. This was perdect, we just followed the signs from the route de la baie into this little village and found the restaurant, The service, the lamb, the childrens menus were all superb. And good value too for such a nice meal. I would recommend this way above all of the tourist traps around the Mont.

we went here after a day at le mont st-michelle. headed away from the tourist mash near the island and saw a sign for the restaurant/hotel. it's the only business in the postage-stamp village. run by two old gents--the cook is, apparently, the favorite pupil of eisenhower's personal chef (according to the newspaper articles on display) . we went with two children (both exemplars of good behavior) and were surprised in such an old-fashioned and proper place to have them serve up not only a great children's menu, but to bring crayons and presents to the table. the food was very good--nothing extraordinary, but competent and tasty and not a bit overpriced. service was charming--the way i imagine it 30 years ago (probably about right judging by the age of our waiter). anyway, try their house apero. i don't think any english is spoken there, but i imagine they can handle the occasional foreign tourist.
