Surf Stay

How do I start. Traveling in Morocco just last week was great but it also takes much energy out of you especially during Ramadan. With that said we had a trip planed with Chris from Surf N Stay to head out to paradise valley. Chris was amazing from the start through email and some calls he set everything up and booked our bus tickets to make sure we could return to Marrakech that evening. When time travel issues hit and we made it to Agadir were Chris was going to meet us we were all so late and tired we needed to cancel our trip.

Chris and Surf N Stay the great people they were met my group so that we could still keep our bus tickets but also drove us to the station. Chris is an awesome guy that knows alot about the country and the area.

Although we did not spend much time with him or the company due to needing to cancel our excursion he took GREAT care of us and delivered what we still needed.

I cant speak any higher of Chris's kindness and true genuine personality and business practices.

Five of us stayed in Hash Bay 8 after having the apartment recommended by a couple of people who have stayed at different times.

Great location, brilliant balcony looking out to the beach and great indoor seating area with windows all around. There is a double room, a twin room and then lots of couches to sleep on. Taghazout is only tiny so short walk to anywhere you want to go out to eat, the apartment has a kitchen if you want to cook for yourself but we just went to the local places.

Chris is a fantastic host and ready to help with anything you need. Nice touch of fresh bread delivered in the morning for breakfast and I strongly recommend you take up his offer of the day trip to Paradise Valley. We were lucky enough to be there on the day that there was a local market in Banana Village which was great to walk around and pick ingredients for our tagine. Chris and Hachim (sorry I might have spelled that wrong) were great taking us up to the pools to swim and walking all the way to the far up jumping spots. And an amazing lunch cooked by Chris's mate in the valley at the end of the day. Definitely worth it.

We didn't swim in the sea as had heard of a few people being sick and unfortunately the smell around the beach is not ideal but plenty of surfers toughing it out so it's up to you. In general a great place for a few nights with a stunning view and nice coffees at the Surf Berber cafe a short walk along the shore. Highly recommend Surf n Stay if you're heading to Taghazout.

I travelled to Taghazout with 2 other girlfriends and even though we didn't actually stay at Surf'n'Stay, Chris the owner went above and beyond to help us during our stay! He made sure we were well looked after, offered us day trips to Paradise Valley, had us over for home made cous cous and helped us arrange bus tickets to Marrakech on a very busy Moroccan holiday. Our friends stayed with Chris and the rooms were nice with a balcony over looking the water. All the staff are really friendly, and the whole place is so warm and welcoming! Would definitely recommend staying at Surf'n'Stay especially as a young girl in a place that can be a little dodgy, you are in good hands!

I went back to Surf'n'Stay to apartment 8. The place hasn't lost any of its magic, either at day time or night the ocean view is still amazing. The place was clean and Chris and Morad were kind and friendly as usual. I highly recommend this surf camp to everyone either you're with you family, with friends, in couple or by yourself.

NB:Every morning, you still find a fresh baguette hung on the outside of your door (very thoughtful and useful :-))

Room Tip: If you're a group (between 4 and 8), apartment 8 is perfect :-)

We so loved our stay here I have been meaning to write for some time now. But the folks running this place couldn't be more accommodating and fun. We liked it so much we went back three times in our travels around Morocco. Christmas was epic, our trip in to Paradise Valley was so beautiful and perfect. The balcony, the room, they even gave up their room to make room for us. Love love love this place and these people, we couldn't have asked for a better chance stop.

The people working at Surf'n'Stay were super friendly and helped us with everything, from airport transportation, to lost bag at the airport, great activities apart from surfing, rentals of boards and wetsuits, dinner parties and a lot more!
The apartments have perfect locations in the cute village of Taghazout and the balcony just above the sea were perfect for breakfasts and sunsets. Nice beds, bathroom and kitchen were just fine as well.
I'm definitely going back here :-)

Pros:
- Friendly, helpful, lovely staff who are willing to help with all your needs (surf info, hire, outings, information on the area)
- Weekly community dinner put on by the staff, great way to meet other people and eat good food
- Great location, 15min walk to anka point surf break and close stroll to shops and restaurants
- Relaxed and nice environment
- Big apartment right on the beach (the 2 bedroom one), amazing sunrise and sunset views!
- Great value for price!
- Fresh bread delivered in the morning

Cons:
- Clean enough, a bathroom had a bad smell
- Water in shower changed from hot to cold very fast
- Bit of a problem, with the whole area, the smell of sewerage is quite strong at times. Heard others complain on the same issue.

Overall, it was great value for money. Very friendly and helpful staff made it an enjoyable experience. Even had a fun New Years party!
