Ribbonwood Cottages & The Loveshack
Reviewed 17 February 2014

We stayed at Ribbonwood Cottages in preparation for our daughter's wedding. The groom's family stayed in one cottage, and we had the other cottage and the B&B's for the Bride's family. We had also rented The Love Shack for the Bride and Groom for two nights. We had everything at our fingertips and found that the accommodation was very tastefully decorated. Jane made The Love Shack available for us from the morning of the wedding so that all the bridal party could be there to get ready. The hairdressers and the make-up artist came out to us which was very convenient and saved us travelling to and fro on the wedding day. Also made for a very relaxed day.
Thank you Jane and David for your wonderful hospitality. We appreciated the extras that you provided for us.
We would not hesitate to come stay again,
Cheers, Alison and Rob

The four of us travelled from Auckland for a wedding, we stayed for four nights and had a fabulous time. The cottage was perfect for two couples , each with their own beautiful bathroom, very clean , many extras shower soaps, towels, hair dryers and more. The kitchen was also extremely clean tidy and very well equipped, fresh chilled water, milk butter in the fridge and condiments and sauces available . We used the bbq and outdoor table in the evenings as it was so pleasant on the deck with windows opening out from the kitchen. The gardens were extensive and well cared for, with herbs fresh lemons there to use. Jane was welcoming, helpful advising on places to go for preparation for the wedding, everything was ready and well organised on our arrival and departure, no detail left un turned !!! Thank you we will be back to a gorgeous part of the country.

My wife and myself spent two nights in the marvellous B&B (which is a different accomodation from the cottages. We loved the space and privacy, since we had at our disposal the whole first floor, with not only a nice bedroom, but also an additional room with a little kitchenette !

The location, almost on top of the hill, offers an amazing view. We also particularly appreciated the kindness and attentions of the hosts.

We rented both cottages for our extended family and it proved to be the perfect place for everyone to see lots of each other but not live in each other's pockets. The cottages are very well set up and warm and sunny with a delightful outlook, including at the back, where the children were endlessly interested in the grazing horses.Highly recommended and we will go again. My only reservation is that the beds are a bit soft for those with older backs.

We needed a place to chill out for our Christmas holiday and the Loveshack was booked for our 12 night stay. It was exactly what we required a wonderful cottage with all the amenities you would expect ,very quiet even the frogs were in tune, very nice rural outlook but close to Havelock shopping and all tourist amenities. We would like to have stayed longer but work beckoned, we recommend the cottage and Jane's attention to service which was of the highest standard.

We spent 4 nights at the loveshack. After a long trip, seeing the gorgeous little cottage come into view was a welcoming site. It was awesome to find a bottle of bubbles chilling in the fridge for our arrival, which we managed to polish off sitting on the verandah overlooking the pond listening to the frogs. There was everything we needed, and more, and we couldnt have asked for a more tranquil setting. The cottage is full of character and very tastefully renovated - absolutely charming. The location is perfect, close to Havelock and all the varied places in Hawkes Bay. We would definitely stay again.
