This was our 2nd visit to Havelock House, this time we stayed in The Havelock Suite. A lovely spacious room with a very comfortable bed. The open wood fire was just gorgeous!! Diana and Jeff are perfect hosts and their breakfast is superb ??best in Havelock North!! Looking forward to our next visit.

We recently stayed at Havelock House for the weekend. It is a lovely setting and Diana and Jeff are consummate hosts, helpful and enthusiastic.
It was our first B&B experience and we enjoyed it very much.

Thank you for taking the time to post a review - always good to hear back from our guests.
Jeff and I were very pleased to hear you enjoyed your stay here - and not having stayed in a B&B before hope you will look to stay in B&B's again - we certainly love to help our guests get the most from their stay here in the Hawke's Bay.
It was great you brought your bikes with you and were able to enjoy some of the 200kms. of cycle trails we now have all around us; I've tried most of them now and keep going back for more!
Hope to see you again when you come to the Hawke's Bay - whatever the season there is always plenty to see & do here - coming into Autumn - the colours of the leaves changing is quite spectacular, there are many winery restaurants open,Black Barn and Craggy Range are both close by, Birdwood gallery is just down the road and the Farmers Market in Hastings is open all year - hope you had a chance to call in on your way home.
Thanks again for choosing Havelock House for your stay in the Hawke's Bay
Best Wishes

A great stay and warm, helpful hospitality. Comfort and the luxury of space in peaceful surroundings make this B&B a perfect retreat. I particularly enjoyed the bed - one of the most comfortable I've ever slept on.

Room Tip: We had the luxury suite - forgotten it's name but it certainly is luxurious!

Thank you Sue for your kind comments about your stay at Havelock House - so pleased you both enjoyed it - the name of the room you were staying in is the Havelock suite! It is our most popular room - ideal for a weekend away and lots of space.
Great to hear you had a good nights sleep. The beds in the Havelock and Napier suite are both the same make & King size, in the Hastings our other room there is a choice of 2 single or superking
Jeff and I enjoyed meeting you both - and all the Best in your new home.
Hope to see you or your family here again
Kind Regards

We enjoyed two nights here as part of a your of NZ - Geoff and Diana provided a really warm welcome with tea and homemade cakes on the veranda and provided really useful advice on things to do and places to eat. Our room was a sumptuous suite which provided all we could possibly need! We enjoyed the swimming pool and a local walk which took in Birdswood cafe and craft shops which was well worth a visit ( not least for the old fashioned sweets!). Would recommend a walk up Te Mata to take in the views and a meal at
Pipi's restaurant in Havelock North.
May seem to be a way out of Napier but Havelock North has plenty to offer and if you like walking, eating and visiting wineries it is perfect!

Room Tip: I think any of the three rooms would be perfect. Geoff and Diana are perfect hosts

Thank you for your kind comments about your stay here - guests are still swimming in the pool and we continue to have great weather going into mid March now - as you say Havelock North has a huge amount to offer - Te Mata Peak has wonderful walks and trails and fantastic views over the whole of the Hawke's Bay, Black Barn bistro & winery, Te Mata winery and Craggy Range has a wonderful restaurant, Arataki free visitor centre is worth visiting and Te Mata figs, and Birdwood Gallery just down the road from here,
Pipi restaurant in Havelock North is a 'must' great food and atmosphere.
Whatever you want to do during your stay here - Art Deco Napier, a game of golf at Cape Kidnappers, a wine tour, cycle ride - it's all easily accessible from here and a great base for 2/3/4 days.
I love sharing my knowledge of the Hawke's Bay with our guests.I'm also very happy to answer questions before you book and during your stay at Havelock House
Thank you again
with Best Wishes

We really enjoyed our stay in Havelock North...it is well worth a few days and we enjoyed our three nights with Diana and Jeff very much( although we only met him briefly as we were preparing to go) . The house is huge and a massive project for them both. It is quite 80s in style reflecting the time it was built and is getting a little tired in places. We enjoyed our visits to Nelson , Mission Bay for the concert and Cape Kidnappers. We had a very good meal at Craggy Range and enjoyed the Farmers Market on the Sunday morning. Diana was most welcoming and we had several chats with her and enjoyed some of her homemade cake. We stayed in some amazing B and Bs in New Zealand in 6 weeks , and all I would say for what we paid here it did seem a little expensive. That may well reflect the area rather than any thing else but if I was being objective that would be my only criticism.

Thank you for taking the time to review your stay with us;by way of background Havelock House was built in the style of older Bay properties with high ceilings , large rooms and sweeping verandas; it is a large home which we love with lots of space for our guests to relax and unwind.
We are pleased you enjoyed your stay here and the concert at the Mission , the Farmers market in Hastings is a must for anyone staying here over a weekend - it was one of the busiest weekends of the year when you stayed in the Hawke's Bay; you booked the Havelock suite our top room 7.4m (24.3 x 6.4m (21').
- we also offer the Napier or Hastings suites which offers guests great value.

Hope you enjoy the rest of your stay in New Zealand
Kind Regards
Diana & Jeff

As we turned into the drive at Havelock House you knew you were going to feel at home. We were greeted by Diana on our arrival who showed us all to our spacious and comfortable rooms and then invited us to join her for a glass of wine on the terrace - idyllic. Both Diana and Jeff were perfect hosts during our stay giving us plenty of advice on trips and shopping and introducing us to Robert Simon from Mission Estate B&B who took us on a fully guided tour of the area stopping at vineyards. Diana herself took us girls on a shopping morning introducing us to Havelock Norths finest. Whatever we needed Diana and Jeff were there even a taste of Diana's Christmas cake was delicious. Thanks again to our hosts

Room Tip: All the rooms were good

We are really pleased you enjoyed your stay here at Havelock House - thank you for all the kind comments; the Christmas cake is finished now but we have lots of other tasty cakes to offer our guests!
It was great you had an opportunity to go on a wine tour with Robert Simon - he is excellent; always happy to arrange wine tours , restaurant bookings and any transfers between places.
We get a lot of wedding guests here so going out to Craggy Range, Elephant Hill, Black Barn is
easily arranged.
I also enjoyed showing you round Havelock North, easy (free) parking, lots of lovely shops, coffee shops and restaurants. There is so much here - we just love sharing it with our visitors.
Jeff and I enjoyed meeting you all and wish you all the Best for the year ahead.
Hope to see you or some of your friends here again v.soon

A great stay at Havelock House. Jeff and Diana could not have been more accommodating - even to providing the tomato sauce we used for the fish and chips we bought to take back to Havelock House.
Diana's knowledge of the local area and the various excursions we could go on was second to none.
We would absolutely recommend this B and B. It is a little out of the hustle and bustle which suited us perfectly

Thank you for all your kind comments about your stay here at Havelock House
- there is certainly plenty to see and do - not just the 70+ wineries, but Te Mata Peak, Gannet beach safari, Birdwood gallery on Middle Road just a short walk from here, Pernel fruit world in Hastings , Wool World at Clifton - one of my favourites!!; O'Possum world in Napier on the Marine Parade, the Art Deco walks in Napier - 20 minutes away and much more - or you can just relax by the pool and read , or sit in the garden and enjoy a wine; it's been great weather in the Bay - and looks set to continue.

Havelock North village is just 3 minutes drive ; there are 10+ restaurants, top wineries and winery restaurants, Black Barn, Te Mata, Craggy Range - the well known Pipi restaurant , 14 + womens clothes shops, modern cinema complex and lots of coffee shops where you can sit at the pavement tables and watch the world go by!

As you say Havelock House is 3 kms drive from Havelock North - we are in a good location - quiet, semi rural with a large sheltered garden and plenty of parking by the house.

Thanks again for choosing Havelock House for your stay in the Hawke's Bay
All the Best for the year ahead
