I don't like to use that word 'inspirational' too often but I can't think of another word that expresses. Driving through the entrance takes you into another world with orchards, a winding river dotted with ducks, and layers of gardens you can get lost in. Every corner you turn takes you to another secret spot with its own character. I loved the massive pond with frogs and little birds dipping and splashing.
The rooms are immaculate, modern and fittings quite unique. Also the guest lounge is a real study in architectural innovation and chic, with lots of facilities and home comforts.
Breakfast ticked all the boxes with fresh homegrown fruits, homemade bread, greek yoghurt and cooked if you've got room for it.
John is just the best host - helpful, kind and with a highly developed s.o.h.
The whole place is conveniently placed within a minute of town centre. Havelock North was impressively neat, clean and upmarket. We gave St Andrews 6 stars out of a max of 5!
