Villa Talla specialises in offering a calm, relaxing environment amongst beautiful surroundings. The rooms are clean, spacious and comfortable. The hosts, Roger and Marina, are as welcoming to guests as if they are friends in their home. Can't recommend enough.

This is in such a beautiful spot with divine mountain views. We were spellbound by the prettiness around us and loved the fresh air with lavendar and rosemary scents. This is worth the short 6km drive from pretty Dolceacqua but be sure to read Roger's directions properly before going, we printed them beforehand. The hosts and their daughter were lovely and helpful with suggestions for sightseeing, there are beautiful hill towns and places to visit, they also recommend great restaurants (try Acquadolce pizzeria!!) We loved our breakfast with a view, delicious jams and coffee how you like it delivered without even asking (thanks Alexia). The pool area is so relaxing and perfect for a snooze with magical views. The rooms feel new and are immaculately cleaned with absolutely everything you need. The lounge that you can enjoy has comfy couches and so much to look at, art and books, brochures and magazines. I only wish we lived closer and could enjoy Casa Villatalla more often. We loved it!

my second time ( Nov9-11) at Casa Villatalla was as wonderful as the first. The same first class service and welcoming by owners Roger & Marina ; the same astonishing & authentic Italian meals prepared by Marina ...... views to the mountains above and valleys below provide a quiet get-away. It's only an hour from the Nice Airport or a quick drive from Ventimegilia, it's easy to fit this into an Italian or French holiday ...
Exploring the close by Medieval towns of Dolceaqua, Apricale, Roccetta Nirvina is a great adventure. Check out their web site ...

Room Tip: all rooms excellent with balcony access and views, but my favorite is at front of house

We were not planning to visit Liguria but when we found this guesthouse on the internet, we decided to stay here and we are so glad we did. Lovely little mountain guesthouse with a beautiful garden and stunning views. The room was light and airy and very comfortable. The atttached balcony had amazing views over the valley. The hosts were very friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable about the area, attractions and restaurants. Our toddler, in particular, was made very welcome. It was the perfect base for sightseeing in the area and relaxing by the pool in the afternoon. If Marina offers to cook then don't miss out on her meals. We had an excellent dinner here. Really a lovely place with lovely hosts.

We stayed here for 9 nights in July while our daughter joined a citizen science week with Tethys (http://www.tethys.org/tethys/) watching and counting whales and dolphins and all the other sea creatures that live in or visit the marine sanctuary off San Remo.
Marina and Roger have made Casa Villatalla a place you just don't want to leave. I'm not sure what we enjoyed most, the pool, the food, the ambience, the garden, the restfulness of the place, Roger's breakfast cappucinos, Marina's stories, the view, the bench with the view, or the dragonflies, butterflies and fireflies.
It's not often that you find such a place with such hosts who are happy to draw maps to show your where to go for a walk, call to reserve tables for you, lend you their yoga mats ....
This is a very special place run by very special people.
