Perfect location for visiting the Cathar Castle region. Paul and Val were exceptional hosts, extremely helpful and informative with regard to interesting towns and sites. The breakfast choice was vast and the evening meals cooked by Paul were an experience not to be missed for both the food and atmosphere. A truly enjoyable stay, which we hope to repeat.

My fiancé and I stayed in Aux Quatre Saisons 3 weeks ago partly on a short break from city life and partly as an experiment - we were considering relocation somewhere in France and "living the dream" with our own Bed and Breakfast venture in the future. Val was away, although her warmth and influence on the place is felt everywhere, Paul is a charming and delightful host as well as setting the best example we could possibly have found of how to do things right.
The cuisine is fantastic and showcases the best in authentic French cuisine - he strives for and achieves excellence. The room we stayed in opens out onto a view so spectacular and so typical of the area that the only reason we found it hard to sleep was because of the sheer anticipation of throwing open the curtains each morning to such a glorious vista.
What we really took heed over and appreciated as guests were the clever little but important details - such as a hair dryer in the room, crisp linen and a wonderful bed, a more than attentive host, a hearty breakfast, unbelievably good coffee and company! I would not only recommend Aux Quatre Saisons to anyone wishing to explore this often overlooked region of France to anyone who asks but can also confirm that we are voting with our feet and moving to the locality ourselves in the near future! We look forward to revisiting Aux Quatre Saisons in the near future, not least of all to get another fluffy hug from their delightful dog Kartouch, Dani and Lee

We stayed at this B & B for six nights in their Chambre Jardin, following warm recommendations from our children. And it paid out in every single detail. The lovely room is in their beautiful garden, with all the comfort and privacy one can expect. The breakfast was excellent, rich and more than that. The owners, Val and Paul, are just unbelievable in their efforts to make your stay as pleasant as possible, and they deliver! Apart from that, they offer a very rich dinner at an unbelievable price and of gargantuan proportions, accompanied by wines and a cozy atmosphere, with both Val and Paul hovering around and doing their very best to please the guests. The result is a kind of "home far away from home".
Altogether, one big wonderful experience, worth every penny and cent.

Last year I stayed in this B&B with my boyfriend for a couple a days. After reading all the reviews on TripAdvisor, my expectations were very high. But even so, Paul and Val (the owners) managed to exceed them!

Our stay was absolutely wonderful; Axat is a nice little village, the B&B had lovely rooms (we stayed in the pink room) for a good price, and the hosts are very kind and generous. But what made our stay extra special were the dinners with the other guests. Lots of good food (thanks Paul!), wine and good company!

We definitely would like to stay here again some time!
