First visit to the Maldives and it could not have been better. The hotel was spectacular, with everything you could need. From the moment you arrive you are relaxed, no money needed as everything including shop purchases are charged to your room, no shoes required, no dressing up for dinner - shorts and t-shirt are fine. Also, as we had paid the all inclusive supplement which gave two trips free of charge, the sunset cruise and the island visits both were very good. The food is of an exceptional standard and is varied nightly, with some themed nights. We celebrated a birthday at the Moodhu Restaurant again excellent food, but also the staff organised a birthday cake and bottle wine at the end of the meal a surprise to all of us as we had not requested it. The snorkeling on the house reef was great and very safe but you could see some of the fishes in the shallows as well. Our room was on the land a few seconds from the beach, no worrying about beach loungers each room have their own with umbrella. Moonis kept our room spotless and arranged the bed sheet in a different pattern each night. A lovely relaxing time was had by all, and none of us wanted to leave.

Second time at Reethi, travelled with 18 month old. Everything was fantastic, staff were great from Hoda and the guys at breakfast and everyone at Moodhu and the Grill and to the water sports guys, Island is beautiful, rooms are clean and food is great, Catamaran to deserted islands was highlight. Really cannot fault anything
Will definitely go back,

Having just come back from a 2 week stay at Reethi, I can honestly say that it was the best holiday of my life and I've had quite a few epic ones!

Reethi Beach is one of those destinations which absolutely gets pretty much everything right. Nothing seems to be too much hassle. The rooms are cleaned twice a day, the food is delicious, the staff are fantastic and even the beach and paths are swept clean every morning. I have never been to a place where customer service is this good.

I travelled there with my mother, it was her 70th birthday and a trip to the Maldives was my gift to her. As you can imagine, I wanted everything to be perfect. Reethi Beach most certainly delivered by the sack load.

My mother has some mobility issues due to a hip replacement surgery that had gone badly wrong last summer. Although all is well now, walking any great distance is still quite difficult. When we first arrived, we were assigned Reethi Villas 179 and 180. This is on the North West side of the island and although in a lovely location, it is a respectable walk away from the amenities, if you have mobility issues. Spoke to reception and asked if there was any possibility to be a little closer. They were able to move my mother to 104, which was absolutely perfect.

I remained in 179.

I suspect my room may have had a bit of an "accident" in it from a previous guest and although the room was immaculately clean, there was a lingering odour in and around the wardrobe. I reported it to reception and a cleaning team was dispatched and the room blitzed. However, although everything was thoroughly disinfected and sprayed, the odour soon returned. Unfortunately, it had seeped into the wood. I burnt incense sticks instead and that worked. After about a week, the odour gradually faded by itself. Nevertheless, the lads had done their level best to sort it out, so a big thanks goes to the house boys for their valiant efforts!

A special shout goes out to Vineeth, who mixes a mean cocktail and who's good humour and sense of fun, frequently had us all giggling at the Sunset bar. Also a big thanks to Janesh, for looking after us so well at the Moodhu bar and chasing us all over the island, keeping us stocked up with chilled Gateo. Last but not least, to Hassan from Waterworld, for making our excursions filled with so much fun. His bubbly personality, generosity of spirit and mischievious sense of fun, all added to a wonderfully memorable experience, he is a true asset to the resort and a proper little ray of sunshine! Thank You! P.S. The fish was delicious!

All in all, the whole experience was fantastic and we loved every minute. Needless to say, we shall be back next January.

Well done Reethi Beach and Team!

Room suggestions: Any on the West side. The East side is frequently windy, which although lovely, can make the sea quite choppy for swimming.

Bug advice: There are no mosquitoes, however, there are sometimes ants that look big enough to carry you off. You may see them exploring the open air bathroom / loo at night. Not an issue for me personally, but they might bother some.

Weather / Clothes advice: Travelled in January. Weather was very hot, sunny and humid. Average Temperature was 28c - 32c with over 80% humidity, so you WILL feel it. Ocean is also very warm. Some days were a little hazy for about an hour or so, but this was hardly noticeable.

We had 2 nights where it rained a little. That's it. Not a single day was lost to poor weather and we were there for 2 weeks. To be honest, the afternoons are so hot that you will be seeking shade. You won't need shoes, but walking barefoot can make you a little sore if you're not used to it, so you might want a pair of flip flops. Bring your lightest clothes, it's hot all day and all night. Anything with sleeves is already too much! You will never raise so much as a goose bump. Not even at night, whilst sitting in a direct breeze. Bring a hand fan, you'll thank me for it. :-)

Seaplanes: Although great fun, they're hot, cramped and very very loud. So if you're going to use one of these, remember your weight is limited to 25 kgs including your hand luggage. You'll also want ear plugs.

B&B or All Inclusive? To be honest, the overall cost is about the same in the end. All inclusive is approx $125 pp/pd, so if you think you're going to be spending more than this for food and drink, then this is for you.. I opted for B&B.

Booked with Purely Maldives, who took care of everything. The whole experience was smooth and effortless. Thank you!

Room tip: West Side of the island.

After hours of trawling Trip Advisor & other traveller reviw sites, we decided that Reethi Beach resort seemed the perfect choice for us to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. The reviews nailed it & it surpassed our expectations. We decided on B&B basis, which was perfect for us. Neither od us are big drinkers & we wanted to be flexible on where we ate. The Seaplane ride in was amazing - a first time & just as we imagined. Flying low over numerous island resorts which seemed to get better & better the nearer we got to Reethi. The boat crew were very friendly on pck up & we were welcomed with fresh coconut to drink - just what we needed.
After sorting our paperwork quickly, we were taken to our water Villa 205, which we had requested after reading which were the best for the sunset views. WOW, is all I can say. I have spent many years wanting to bring my wife to a water villa in the Maldives & the villa ,was clean, spacious, nicely decorated & with the best view from the window. Miles of turquoise ocean, with numerous colourful fish swimming at the steps of the bacony. We settled into life very quickly & did our best to be sandal free for the duration, but the heat of the boardwalk to our villa in the midday sun was too much, so that wa sour only compromise.
The food was great & we had buffet breakfasts, with plenty of choice always. The Moodhu bar was our favourite for lunch & evening meals & the staff were great. It always felt very relaxed & just very special. It only has a few tables too, so you always feel very secluded. We had aour last meal on the beach at Reethi Grill under one of the canopes - a meal I will remember for a very long time. Whilst we were on the island we also did the eco tour which I highly recommend. Surprised to learn that the bottles used on the Island come from Haddenham, 5 miles up the road! We did a tour to turtle reef & saw turtles, did our own Crusoe Island excursion & swam every day. The diversity of the fish was great & the snorkelling was amazing. My only tip here is take your own snorkels & flippers which will save you money if you ned to hire. I hope we will get back one day & if you're doing what we did & reading all the reviews, don't hesitate, just book, you won't be disappointed. Thank you Reethi Beach, you are awesome!

Dear PeteGriff65,

Thank you so much for your stunning review and for choosing Reethi Beach for your wedding anniversary holiday!

We are amazed to hear that we met your expectations and even surpassed it!
Obviously, you took advantage of some of our excursions like the Robinson Picnic. Indeed, it is a very special experience. When do you ever have the chance to be on an island all by yourself?! :)
How nice that you have relished the food in our outlets every day, hence we assume Bed & Breakfast basis for the best choice for you.

We would love to get the chance to welcome you two back to our island and maybe you will have another memorable dinner in our Reethi Grill.

Wonderful holiday, lovely beach, incredible blue ocean with ever changing colours - idyllic experience. We loved having dedicated beach loungers, not like fighting for one in the Caribean. Staff were excellent - warm, friendly and so helpful. Accommodation was also lovely and our outside bathroom was great. We had bed & breakfast package and enjoyed eating dinner a la carte, more than enough food for us. Seaplane trip was fun. Weather was fantastic all week we were there. We look forward to returning to such a beautiful paradise even though it is a long way from Toronto, Canada.

Room tip: We stayed on the east side which was a bit windier than the west which had great sunsets and higher rated rooms. We liked the breeze.

Dear Philip C,

Thank you very much for your stunning review and of course for taking this long journey to visit Reethi Beach!
You are totally right, the blue ocean with its different colors is incredible. Here in Maldives they have even words for every single blue color, which you can find in the ocean.
The dedicated sun beds are indeed advantageous, as you do not have to go up early in the morning to save one with your towel :)

We would love to welcome you back to the small island in the big ocean even though it means a long travel for you.
