Amazing, Amazing, AMAZING!!!

Review of Oaktree-Lane
5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 11 Jul 2020
My partner and I along with our 7 month old daughter visited the gorgeous Oak tree lane from 5th-7th July.

The lockdown was lifted and we searched for a break away for my partners birthday weekend. With the situation with COVID so uncertain still and not knowing what to expect Philip and Sera couldn’t have put us more at ease with their welcome email explaining exactly how the process would work for checking in and our stay. We felt reassured and excited for our stay straight away. Unfortunately we had to arrive a day late for our holiday and the booking was easy to amend.
When we arrived both Philip and Sera could not have been more friendly and welcoming. Instantly we felt so pleased we had booked our stay here. We were shown a lovely private bathroom and kitchen both had all we needed to be comfortable for our stay. We then were shown to our stunning yurt, it was spacious with a comfy bed, wardrobe, mirror and log burner .
We were warmly encouraged to roam around the farm to say ‘Hello’ to the sheep and chickens from a safe distance!!

We highly recommend opting for a breakfast pack, the bacon and eggs were delish. We also bought some Hogget for the bbq which was also so tasty.

Whilst we were at Oak tree lane, we visited Roadford lake (walking distance), Strawberry picking at Strawberry fields farm shop at Lifton (15mins by car) & Lydford gorge (20mins by car) - You need to book this at the moment as limited numbers of people can arrive at the same time also is a shorter walk due to social distancing.

We will be returning here for sure and will be bringing our friends for the ride, what more could you want than to sit in a beautiful part of the world around the campfire with just the farm animals as neighbours!!

Tricky to find, but Phil and Sera were on hand to guide us in on phone. No problems, handy for South and North Coast, 5 minutes to Cornwall.
Comfy beds, well equipped kitchen, fresh bacon and eggs from farm. The neighbours were friendly if a bit woolly!.
Granite way cycle path was nearby and we enjoyed the cake and coffee at the pump and pedal pub after rides.
We hope to stay here again soon.
Thanks
Keith and Andrea

Me and my siblings had a great stay here in a log cabin celebrating my sister's birthday. Accommodation was clean and new. A nice welcome on arrival owners were very nice. Gorgeous picturesque views out over Dartmoor! Would definitely recommend to those looking for a great stay in the countryside.

Just spent a lovely few days at Oak Tree Lane, well away from it all. The cabin was great as were hosts Phil and Sera who were so friendly and couldn't do enough to make my stay comfortable. The location is quiet so you will need an alarm clock, the sheep aren't loud enough to wake you, definitely recommend it.

What an amazing place to stay! Me and my partner have just come back from Oak Tree Lane and would definitely visit again. Phil and Sera exceeded expectations in making this such a special time. We stayed in a Yurt which was very clean. Me and my partner were celebrating our one year and they decorated our yurt with balloons and bunting and even got us a bottle of prosecco (after emailing them explaining it was our one year anniversary). Then on our second night Phil offered to take us to the local pub for food and then arranged with the owner to give us a lift back. Our final night was one of mine and my girlfriend’s favourite moment together. We had our own BBQ then made our own fire at the communal fire pit, roasting marshmallows, beneath the stars that seemed so close you could touch them. Great stay, fabulous hosts and an unforgettable trip. Would highly recommend staying at Oak Tree Lane!
