This is a great hotel, with superb facilities and ideal location for a quiet break BUT !!! I have never stayed in a hotel in any part of the world where the staff are so miserable, and uninterested in their guests. I cannot recall a single smile or warm greeting from any member of staff, the only time I managed to get a glimpse of a grin out of anyone, was when I asked at reception if they could suggest any restaurants in the area, and the reply was an indignant , NO, we have our own!!!
The pool was never too busy, but why you can't use it before 10am in the morning is a mystery, all other 4/5 star hotels I've stayed in around the world the pool is open at around 7am for the early morning swimmers.
The Al a Carte menu didn't change all week, hence we ate out most evenings, although the buffet on Thursday night was excellent.
The cleanliness of the rooms was very good, and the cleaning staff were at least polite, and the best members of staff the hotel has.
Overall I would not recommend this hotel, nor will I return, purely because of the attitude of the staff. A big part of your holiday experience is the way you are treated. Outside of the hotel the Spanish, without exception are welcoming and very friendly, just avoid this hotel, until the manager can confirm a complete change of staff.

Well run hotel with excellent Sunday buffet a must! Best to go in July/August as large pool not heated. The rooms are spotless and the area is very smart with great walks.Apparently the golf course is great and at breakfast you can watch some play.
I would recommend this hotel to families as the staff are very helpful especially the front desk.
Perfect for relaxing from the glitz of nearby puerto banus.

Room tip: Family rooms on ground floor are great.

This was our third stay at this hotel - but the first time during their peak summer season.

We had previously found the staff to be helpful and friendly, and service to be adequate. This time however, service was awful and some of the staff in fact, were rude.

The rooms are spotlessly clean, and ours had a great view of the golf course and the sea.

The breakfast is lovely, with a wide selection of food (which never alters from day to day!).

The most disappointing thing were all the added charges which have appeared since our last stay, namely:

€6 per day to park in the hotel car park

€6 per day to sit on a beach chair

€60 per day to sit on cabana style double day beds on a decked area. This area previously had single sun beds which were free.

If you want an ice cream, be prepared for the exorbitant charge of €4.25!

On the plus side, the swimming pool is beautiful, and the area surrounding the hotel is very quiet.

I still love this place, but feel disappointed by our experiences this time.

We were a party of five, attending a family function we were pre booked into Hotel Guadalmina and our rooms were already paid for but when we arrived we were told that we would have to pay as our rooms were not paid for. This caused embarrassment and confusion which took a considerable time to clear up but not before a charge had been made against one of the party. We were told that this payment would be blocked.
Later on another four people arrived, who were part of our group only to find that they were told the same. This was about 2am and our host had to travel to the hotel to clear up this matter.
We found the gentleman on reception was not helpful on any matter. When we asked about buses and bus times, he replied in a couldn't care less manner 'Don't know'. We also found it was very poor on local information regarding places of interest.
Our room was spacious, spotlessly clean, as was the bathroom and the ladies who did our room were very pleasant and cheerful. We got fresh linen etc every day.
The restaurant was within easy reach, and although what food was available was limited in variety but all very fresh. The 'hot' food was cool and not as hot as it should be. The overall cleanliness was good.
The part of the hotel where we stayed lacked a lift, also handrails, some of our party were elderly and found the stairs difficult. The grounds were pleasant but more handrails needed everywhere.
One day we had a snack midday with 2 glasses for beer. When we got our bill we were being charged for 4 beers but this was corrected when pointed out.
Overall we found it a pleasant stay but we are fit and able to walk long distances, but this hotel is quite a distance from shops and bus services, although taxis can be called,

Room tip: Rooms on the south side are quieter. But overall its a quite hotel.

This four-star hotel has the prices of a five-star one and rude guests. We couldn’t sleep three nights (spent five) because other rooms decided to have fun in their terraces and balconies at 2 and 3 am. Singing out loud, drinking… You know, the usual in a ‘family-friendly’ hotel. If it were a hotel for young people in a nightlife district, it would be understandable. But we assumed that this was a family and quiet establishment.

Another 'but'. Add to the high price of the room (200 euros on average per night) another 20 euros per day if you want a room with views. We refused and, surprise, from our standard room we could see the beach. From my point of view, the extra charge is not worthy and doesn’t make anyone welcome if it’s the first thing the concierge tells you upon your arrival. For the outdoor parking they also charge you an extra fee.

Pros: its location in front of the beach (which for those who do not know, it’s not the best, but we were tipped off already). A nice big pool with plenty of sunbeds for every guest even during high season. Restaurant staff very attentive and professional. Adequate and plentiful breakfast buffet.

The cons, however, make me hard to recommend it. A tip to the manager: it will give more class to your establishment if you withdraw all those colorful posters announcing promotions and discounts. They are more typical of a hire-a-car office than a four star hotel that prides itself on being on the 'golden mile' of Costa del Sol.
