We stayed for two nights recently (mid-July) with our young son and had a wonderful stay. The room was stunning, beautifully finished and spotlessly clean. Excellent facilities and such friendly and caring hosts. Brilliant value for money as the accommodation and service was to such a high standard. A great location - we used it as a base to explore Lyme Regis, Axmouth, Seaton, Beer, Sidmouth, Charmouth. We ate locally in pubs both nights (in Axmouth and Colyton) and the pubs were both family friendly and excellent food. We will definitely be back - the breakfast was delicious and everything about the stay was faultless.

Room Tip: We had a family room and it was perfect for our needs.

My husband and I booked this accommodation as we were visiting the Donkey Sanctuary in Sidmouth & this was only a short 7 mile drive away. We drove into a spacious, beautifully kept car parking area & were greeted by Yvonne & Des the owners who immediately made us feel very welcome. Des showed us the private enclosed garden with a lovely, calming water feature and very chic garden furniture for us to enjoy time permitting, it was a very serene area. They then carried our case up to our room (Pippin) & we were immediately impressed with the light, airy, contemporary room with separate en suite walk in shower room. As this home, it feels like home, has only been renovated in the last year all the fixtures & fittings look bright, shiny & new. Yvonne provided us with fresh milk to go with our teas & coffees in our room. Having spent 3 hours on a motorway followed by a couple of hours wandering the Donkey Sanctuary we were delighted to be told there was a pub directly opposite serving good food. It did indeed & we ambled back having had a couple of G &T's for me & a couple of pints of real ale for my husband. No designated driver needed, which is always a bonus. We had a good night's rest & were met at breakfast by the charming Yvonne & Des. There was something on the menu for everyone & we opted for the full English breakfast, with tasty sausages from the local butcher! This was accompanied by excellent coffee, which we would have taken in the garden area if we hadn't been heading off to Cornwall. All the guests chatted happily with each other, a sure sign that they were happy with everything. Yvonne & Des answered all the queries from the guests re interesting places to go, interesting walks to take etc. They are a couple who really cannot do enough for their guests & whose well being is paramount to them. Sadly we were only staying one night as there is lots to do in this area & this would definitely be the place of choice to stay. I cannot recommend Yeoman's Acre highly enough & I'm not on my own in this as you will see from all the previous reviewers, so I urge you, if you want a top notch B & B in this area with helpful, empathetic hosts, you will be more than impressed. We certainly were. I should also mention that we paid £70 for the 2 of us with breakfast & we have paid more than this without breakfast in impersonal, run of the mill hotel chains!!!

Room Tip: We stayed in Pippin, the smallest room, as the rest of the rooms were fully booked, but it didn'...

We had not stayed in a B&B for quite a long time and have to say that we are so pleased we found Yeoman's Acre and delightful hosts Des & Yvonne, who are effortlessly attentive and helpful.
This is recently and well refurbished with further development ongoing. The rooms are well finished and comfortable and breakfast is cooked to order. There is a lovely closed garden area for guests which us very relaxing.
We booked this for a visit to River Cottage which is about 10 minutes away and were very happy that we did.
We will definitely return on our next visit to this area.

Room Tip: Take what there is, they are all lovely.

We joined friends here for a three night stay, seeking a place in Devon/Dorset from where we could easily find places to visit for walking, sitting around in tea rooms or just plain relaxing. This location fitted the bill exactly, being close to a variety of small towns along the coast,or inland. A quick look at a tourist map will reveal that it is within literally a few minutes drive of a wide variety of places to visit, and it is surrounded by visitor attractions, tea rooms, cafes, pubs and restaurants, and so is wonderfully well situated to meet all needs.
The accommodation itself is first class. All the rooms are recently refurbished to the highest specification. They are light, spacious and well appointed. The landlord and landlady are just delightful people, and they do all that they can to make your stay as comfortable and agreeable as possible. Extra fresh milk, wine glasses, whatever you need they will try to oblige. The breakfast was excellent and the entire stay was a really good experience. We do a great deal of bed and breakfast and this place comes out top of the list, and is highly recommendd

Room Tip: All rooms are excellent and recently refurbished.

Amazing weeks stay at the Rose cottage made even more special by the fab weather but also by the wealth of knowledge, friendly and service provided by Des and Yvonne. The level of service they provide is excellent from providing fresh linen mid-way through a week’s stay to stopping for a chat sharing their knowledge and experience of the South West! The self-catering accommodation has the facilities you would need for a week’s stay with a washer/dryer, brilliant power shower, dishwasher I could go on! The accommodation is very dog friendly with a self-contained garden area for all guests to enjoy including our dog who was free to explore without the fear of her escaping! This area is a huge positive with a peaceful water feature, modern barbeque facilities and lots of comfy, clean and contemporary seating giving guests a chance to relax and maybe even make new friends! I cannot recommend this place enough and I can safely say me and my partner (along with the dog) will be returning!

Thanks for a brilliant holiday.

My friend and I each had a single room which was not so easy to obtain elsewhere especially for nearly a week. Can't fault this B & B in any way. Scrupulously and immaculately clean, fresh, bright and delightful. Even a hairdryer & some toiletries in the room. All breakfasts were with fresh fruits and scrumptious with local produce. Hosts became more like friends and we were sorry to leave! They bent over backwards to make us feel at home and we did. Everything was absolutely first class. Our rooms also had their own outside doors.
As Colyford is close to & between Lyme Regis & Axminster rail station and Sidmouth & Exeter it offers a perfect quiet location from which to return after a day's exploration. Outside is a garden/patio area for BBQs or just relaxing and enjoying the sun with a glass of wine (which we could keep in a fridge). The local store/P.O. is a few minutes along the road.
Colyton, with a lovely river walk, and Seaton are walking distance (only a mile or so) and the Wheelwright Inn is virtually opposite offering very good reasonably priced meals with friendly staff, so the location of this B & B is ideal. Also on a bus route with stops just yards away. KJ

From the moment we arrived, we knew we had made the perfect choice!

A very warm welcome , a superb room which was immaculate and comfortable, and a fab breakfast! .
Outside offered a pretty ,enclosed seating area, ideal for long summer evenings.
The location was perfect , not only beautiful, but with everything you could need close by.
The owners Des and Yvonne have worked very hard to think of everything, and nothing was too much trouble.
Only wish we were staying longer... but I know we will be back!
Do not hesitate to book!

Room Tip: We stayed in the King room at the front, which was very spacious and had its own entrance...wonderful...
