“Everything we could have wished for.”
Reviewed 18 October 2015 for a stay in October 2015

The apartment was even better in real life, than on the pictures, a real home from home. The beds were really comfy, I loved the wooden floors, and it was great to have full TIVO and a good wi-fi connection. The kitchen was fully equipped and so was the bookshelf, including local OS maps, leaflets of local attractions and walk-books, including one by the owners.

My mum managed the steps with some arthritis, but I wouldn't recommend the front steps for those with balance issues or young children (under 8), as they are steep and narrow. Once you are inside, everything is on one floor.

On our first evening, my mum and I were so overwhelmed by the view of the estuary, that we spent several hours staring at the view; watching the birds and the most amazing sunset, with the sun shrinking to a bright orange dot of light, on the horizon.

I had arranged a visit from Tesco on our arrival, but later found that the local Co-Op offered a great choice for us until 10pm, with a fair range of gluten free and vegetarian options.

The whole area is easily accessible by bicycle tracks, if you're able to bring them, the garage has ample storage. We came by rail, and found that it was a cheaper way of travel than using local buses, even with mum's bus pass; especially if you have a local rail card. The services were regular and comfortable, provided easy access to many other Devon towns and would be a great way of avoiding having to nominate a driver, who would otherwise have to miss out on holiday fun.

Topsham has wonderful shops, which will take up a whole day; I recommend the The Quay Antiques Centre, Topsham Bookshop, and Darts Farm (with the best ale collection I've ever seen). If you go to Darts Farm, pop into The Bridge Inn, a proper old pub, with an interesting ale menu. There are also numerous cafe's, restaurants and pubs; with more temptation available than is possible to consume.

I shall definitely return!

“Location can't be beaten!”
Reviewed 11 April 2014 for a stay in April 2014

We wanted to be right in the centre of Topsham and this fitted the bill for a week long stay. We knew that parking is horrendous in town so the fact that this accommodation comes with use of a garage made it the perfect option. Entrance to the flat is on Monmouth St. Upon entering, the first thing that strikes you is the wonderful views of the quay and the estuary - gorgeous!

The flat is furnished with Ikea throughout and is all very functional, comfortable and clean. Kitchen is small but well equipped. There are two bedrooms: the main bedroom has a very comfortable double bed, second bedroom has twin beds - the flat is perfect for a couple or a couple with two children...would not consider taking it for four adults as it would be too small. Bathroom has good shower over bath. Flat has internet, another must have for us! Things that might be missing? Large bath towels, there were good quality towels there but if you like large bath sheets bring your own. You will also need to bring hairdryer and soap. The kitchen does not stock any cooking ingredients, just coffee/tea but if you don't want to bring your own the village is well stocked with options.

Thank you very much for your kind comments. I’m glad to hear that you so enjoyed the location of G84. The centre of Topsham is indeed one of those places where parking is at a premium, so the facility of a garage is so important to help you enjoy your holiday. Thank you also for your constructive feedback, which we always find very useful. I hope had a wonderful time and we look forward to welcoming you back in future.
